The 2010 remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street was always going to have a hard time living up to Wes Craven's original film. The final result was a a disappointment in terms of rehashing the franchise's iconic moments without really justifying its existence. Screenwriter Eric Heisserer is pretty direct in explaining why the film didn't work, too, blaming it on director Samuel Bayer's cavalier approach to his script.
Although Matt Reeves' The Batman doesn't hit screens until June 25th, 2021, a new piece of fan art shows why Josh Gad could be a great Penguin. The Instagram post from William Gray features Gad with some of Oswald Cobblepot's familiar costume choices. This includes a top hat, monocle, and umbrella. Gad himself has been cheekily referencing the character for the past few years.
At first glance, the Terminator franchise didn't seem to be crying out for the musical treatment. While the series has some notable music cues, there aren't many obvious opportunities for song and dance numbers. However, the recent viral success of Alien: The Musical perhaps influenced Austin playwright Breanna Bietz to try her hand at creating Terminator: The Musical.
