The initial shock of Childish Gambino’s new music is now over and it’s time to just simply enjoy the reality. Though the artist spent most of his career rapping and diving into R&B, the tracks that he's debuted off his upcoming record, Awaken, My Love!, has flipped expectations on their head; it isn’t rap - it’s barely even hip-hop.
John Mayer’s teasing comes to a close with the release of his new single, “Love on the Weekend.” After alluding to a new song or possible album release a week ago, the track arrives to the delight of fans everywhere. Obviously, there was no surprise record to be found -- but Mayer said one would be arriving next year.

Posting on Twitter, the singer tweeted out the cover art to both of the songs that are titled “Party Monster” and “I Feel It Coming” -- the latter being yet another collaboration with Daft Punk.
John Legend is gearing up to release his first album in three years, Darkness and Light, early next month on December 2nd. Already available is the lead single, “Love Me Now” - a poppy R&B track that's currently at number 24 on the Mainstream radio charts. What debuts today shows off a funkier side to the record though, as “Penthouse Floor” features a guest appearance from artist Chance the Rapper.
Grammy Award season always has the potential to drum up some controversy -- when the nominees roll in on December 6th, there will be talk about which categories got it right and which ones snubbed some artists, albums, and songs hard. Frank Ocean was already responsible for some related headlines when it was noted that his recently released album, Blonde, was not submitted for Grammy consideration. Was it because they forgot, or maybe it was a “clerical error” a la Drake’s “Hotline Bling?”
After being teased for the past month, Britney Spears has finally unveiled her re-worked version of her latest single, “Slumber Party,” featuring R&B singer Tinashe on vocals. Originally included on Spears’ recent record, Glory, the collaboration is the first single since “Make Me…” debuted back in July and one of the best potential songs that the album has to offer.
To celebrate Rae Sremmurd’s sudden rise to a number one spot, Nicki Minaj spits some verses over the instrumental for their viral hit, “Black Beatles,” which is currently taking over the Internet via those “Mannequin Challenge” videos. This remix isn’t the first time Nicki's associated herself with the hip-hop duo - for their first record, SremmLife, she jumped on the track “Throw Sum Mo.” For the rework titled “Black Barbies,” she gets into a zone that lets her dish out her best.
New Kids on the Block are on a mission to prove that the 90’s will never truly die. The pop group announced their “Total Package” tour for the summer of 2017 and it’s chock filled with nostalgia, as Boyz II Men and Paula Abdul will be taking part in the nationwide run, too.
