Jake Gyllenhaal Goes To The Dark Side Of TV Journalism In New Nightcrawler Trailer
One of the most fascinating and bizarre thrillers of the fall, Nightcrawler, continues to pique our interests with its very strange, off-kilter trailers. The teaser, which featured a lot of Jake Gyllenhaal addressing the camera, emphasized the film's dark comedy. A more recent trailer highlighted the film's disorienting psychological themes. Now, we have the newest preview for the film, which is more revealing about the crime elements of the story. Nevertheless, the different types of marketing are probably suitable for a movie about a man with a very offbeat personality.

David Gordon Green Will Direct Sandra Bullock In Our Brand Is Crisis
Both David Gordon Green and Sandra Bullock are in the good books of moviegoers again. The director of Joe and Prince Avalanche has redeemed himself after a few big-budget comedy misfires (do I even need to mention Your Highness?), and Bullock has turned into a quality actor who can also bring in big crowds. Three of her last four films - The Blind Side, The Heat and Gravity - were resounding box office successes, and landed her two Oscar nominations and one win. With that in mind, the indie director is now attached to Our Brand Is Crisis, a political dramedy that Bullock is set to star in.

The Divergent Series May Get a Fifth Film
Five months after its release, Divergent remains one of the year's biggest hits. Although it did not reach the heights of any Hunger Games or Twilight titles, it made a strong $151 million in North America and another $125 million overseas. Those are solid, if not spectacular results, and with the books continuing to sell well, could a fifth title in the Divergent series be on the way? If Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. CEO Jon Feltheimer has any say, we just might get one.

Jon Stewart Opens Up About Directorial Debut Rosewater
One of the most anticipated titles of the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival is Rosewater, the first film from savvy late-night talk show host and deadpan comedy expert Jon Stewart. However, even with buzz mounting due to this being Stewart's first directorial effort, Rosewater is not what many may expect. It's a political film - but not a comedy - telling the true story of Iranian-Canadian journalist Maziar Bahari, who was covering Iran's elections for Newsweek when authorities imprisoned him for five months. In an intriguing twist, his arrest happened after Bahari appeared in a satirical bit with Jason Jones on The Daily Show With Jon Stewart. Iranian authorities did not like the joke and threw him in prison, where he was interrogated and tortured.

In the pleasant and entertaining biographical doc To Be Takei, director Jennifer M. Kroot shows a different side of celebrity. Beloved by more fans by the day, the 77-year-old look like the most down-to-earth celebrity in Los Angeles. He seems tickled by fame, eagerly giving autographs and greeting fans at sci-fi conventions and comic book stores. Behind the sweetness and a deep, piping laugh – one that could belong to an evil henchman in a James Bond film, but is too genuine to be confused with one – is a childhood full of struggle.

NBC To Develop Legal Drama Based On The Devil’s Advocate
With a sneering, scenery-chewing Al Pacino and a breakout turn from Charlize Theron, The Devil's Advocate remains a popular watch on cable. However, that popular film could have a more permanent place in the minds of TV watchers, as NBC is now developing a drama series based on the legal thriller from 1997. Arnold Kopelson (producer of the film) and The West Wing's John Wells are in talks to produce the series.

Box Office Report: The Expendables 3 Implodes As Turtles Repeat
Three new films tried to push two beloved groups of superheroes out of the top spots at the box office this weekend - and failed to do so. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles repeated in the #1 spot, dropping 57% to make $28.4 million. Given the poor word-of-mouth, lots of competition for action crowds and teen audiences, and pent-up demand for last weekend, that really isn't a terrible number at all. With a $117.6 million cume in 10 days, expect Turtles to end up with between $170 and $180 million in North America.
