Adrien Brody Wants To Play The Joker In Justice League
Oscar-winning actor Adrien Brody has his sights set on a juicy comic-book role: The Joker. Brody was considered to play the dastardly villain in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight, but he was passed over in favour of Heath Ledger, who won a posthumous Oscar for the iconic role. When asked about playing The Joker in Justice League at the Cannes Film Festival, Brody revealed that he is certainly interested.

The Coen Brothers Will Write A Draft For Steven Spielberg’s KGB Thriller With Tom Hanks
In news that should please any single person who has ever walked into a movie theater, Joel and Ethan Coen are onboard to write a draft of an upcoming thriller directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Tom Hanks. The draft will be for an untitled Cold War thriller that would star Hanks as James Donovan, an attorney who helped with the rescue of a downed fighter pilot during the 1960s. While initial reports said that British playwright Matt Charman (the upcoming adaptation of Suite Française) was writing the screenplay, the Coen brothers are reported to be working on a draft at the moment.

Mad Men Review: “The Strategy” (Season 7, Episode 6)
This week’s episode of Mad Men, “The Strategy” reminded me of what the Emmy-winning drama is like at its best: focused, truthful writing, driven by compelling characters. The folks in the Mad Men crew are among the strongest storytellers that have ever worked on television, and they are never better when they let the characters rather than the plot details drive the destiny of the show. Even by the its languid standards, “The Strategy” was a low-key episode, filled with long conversations and little in the way of tying up loose ends from previous episodes in what has been a somewhat scattered start to season seven. However, this week, Mad Men made up for that by delivering some of the sharpest, strongest two-person scenes the series has offered in recent memory.

Will Ferrell And Zach Galifianakis Will Search For Larry’s Kidney
Once presidential rivals in the middling political comedy The Campaign, funnymen Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis are set to team up on a film that could provide some of the comic gold missing from their 2012 film. The actors will head to China in Larry's Kidney, based on a bizarre memoir from author Daniel Asa Rose that could just be outlandish enough to work with both Ferrell and Galifianakis' brazen comic sensibilities. Better yet, director Richard Linklater is slated to helm. The last time Linklater made a dark comedy based on true events, we got the sublime Bernie, one of his most under-appreciated gems.

Inherent Vice Will Not Get A Wide Release Until January 2015
Those who enjoy the rich, ambitious, character-driven dramas of director Paul Thomas Anderson but who live far from major cities may have to wait a little longer to see his next film, Inherent Vice. Anderson's adaptation of Thomas Pynchon's pulpy detective noir will get a limited release on December 12, 2014, but will not go into a nationwide release until the first post-holiday weekend of January. It is a similar release pattern to many Oscar-oriented films over the years, notably 2013's Her (that came out in mid-December but went wide right before the Golden Globes) and 2012's Zero Dark Thirty, as well as the director's own There Will Be Blood and Magnolia.

The Cinderella Teaser Trailer and Poster Is All About The Slipper
Fans of Disney's classic fairy tales may want to keep their expectations minimal for the first trailer and poster of Kenneth Branagh's live-action adaptation of Cinderella. Although the film has a terrific ensemble, with Downton Abbey's Lily James anchoring the project in the title role, there is real footage or any images shown. Instead, this teaser material displays three things: the March release month, the Disney logo and that iconic glass shoe. There is not even a title, although the slipper is probably enough of a hint to clue in fans of the Disney princess.
