Some directors have their niches and genres that they like to focus on, while others are free to move around and do all sorts of projects. It is hard to think of a better example of the latter than Danny Boyle, the British director who can do everything: sci-fi (Sunshine), horror (28 Days Later), family drama (Millions) and inspirational true story (127 Hours). He's pretty much done it all and now, he's looking to add sports biopic to that eclectic list.

Brie Larson Will Be A Part Of Judd Apatow’s Trainwreck
Brie Larson is a name that moviegoers should start getting used to. She has already seen some mainstream traction with supporting parts in 21 Jump Street and Don Jon. Meanwhile, her indie credibility is at its apex right now, a result of her remarkable turn in the superb drama Short Term 12 last year, which I included on my list of 10 great movies from 2013 that you probably missed. Her turn in that film notched Larson some well-deserved awards buzz. Now, on her steady path to conquer Hollywood, the actress has signed on to Trainwreck for producer/director Judd Apatow and sketch actor and writer Amy Schumer.

Cinematographer Roger Deakins Will Not Return For Bond 24
It is hard to imagine what modern cinema would look like without Roger Deakins. The cinematographer of many of the finest films of this generation, including The Shawshank Redemption and No Country for Old Men, Deakins is one of the most championed creative minds in the industry. His crisp photography, spare and striking without too much embellishment, helped make Skyfall look good and stand out as one of the better James Bond entries in recent memory. For his work on that film, he earned his tenth Academy Award nomination. However, despite his gorgeous cinematography, Deakins will not reprise his work with Bond 24, which is due out in North America on November 6, 2015.

It’s time for Oscar! In the weeks leading up to the big ceremony on Sunday, March 2, we are getting a clearer picture of who we should expect to walk away with Oscar gold. New Nymphomaniac Trailer Is The Perfect Antidote For Valentine’s Day
It may have been cruel, but it also would have been darkly and deeply funny if Lars Von Trier had decided to release the first of his two-part sex addict drama Nymphomaniac on Valentine's Day. Although the director's fans (and curious cinephiles) on this side of the ocean will have to wait until March to see if the film lives up to its ecstatic reviews and its eyebrow raising posters, a new, green-band U.S. trailer for Nymphomaniac is now online to tempt and tease us for what's to come. It may be the most erotic and rancid green-band promo ever though, so still watch at your own risk if you're at work. Even a toned back Lars Von Trier is quite provocative.

Nicolas Cage Is Back To Top Form In Joe Trailer
As a recent episode of NBC's Community explored, Nicolas Cage is a very difficult actor to peg down. His career is filled with tremendous performances, from his Oscar-winning role in Leaving Las Vegas to bruisingly funny turns in Adaptation, Raising Arizona and Matchstick Men. At the same time, his filmography is filmed with oddities and schlock that could have wrecked any other actor's career (need I say more than The Wicker Man remake?) Now, fans of Cage should be content that he is drawing raves once again, for David Gordon Green's drama Joe, which received an overwhelmingly positive reception at 2013's Venice and Toronto film festivals.

John Singleton To Direct And Re-Write Tupac Shakur Biopic
Boyz N The Hood director John Singleton has resurrected a long gestating biopic of late rap icon Tupac Shakur. Singleton, who directed Shakur in his 1993 film Poetic Justice, will also produce and help re-write the Untitled Tupac Shakur Project alongside scribes Jeremy Haft and Ed Gonzalez, whose last credit was a direct-to-video sequel to Street Kings.
