Modern Family Review: “The Big Game” (Season 5, Episode 9)
Modern Family is well on its way to being upstaged at the Emmys next year. Although not the laugh generator that it used to be, the show is currently in a steady groove of decent storylines enlivened by a game cast that needs to be utilized better. This, of course, is hard with the contractual obligation to give 11 different actors something to do in less than 22 minutes and keep millions of viewers entertained.

New Teaser For AMC’s Turn Takes A Glimpse At America’s First Spy Ring
As the flagship programs of television network AMC have either finished in grand style (Breaking Bad) or began to wind down into their final episodes (Mad Men), TV viewers are curious to see which new programs the company will unleash next. Today, AMC has released a first look at Turn, a historical drama set in the years after the American Revolutionary War. The drama is set to air in spring 2014 and the early footage certainly looks promising.

Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes Trailer May Debut In December
July 2014 was supposed to be a huge month for two much-anticipated sequels: Fast & Furious 7 and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. However, in the wake of Paul Walker's passing and a halted production, it looks that the month will not belong to fast and furious cars, but instead to those damn, dirty apes. And a first trailer for Matt Reeves' sequel to the 2011 sci-fi thriller should be hitting theatres soon, possibly before the end of 2013.

Of course, there is the popular axiom that “the book is always better than the movie.” There are many reasons for this: a great book can immerse you for many nights of reading, while a film has just a couple of hours to fill your time with the same story and characters. The novel or book is the primary work of one person with a small crew of helping hands, like editors. With a film, there are many more cooks in the kitchen, so to speak, making it likelier for certain aspects – from the acting to the accuracy of the set design – to not live up to readers’ expectations. Most of all, novels that come with a first-person perspective often give screenwriters a challenge, since the writer must bring the idiosyncratic thoughts and feelings of the character to life through a visual medium.

Unreleased Star Wars Prequels May Hit Theatres In 2014
With fan anticipation for Star Wars: Episode VII at lofty heights, as audiences await casting news, story information and a final title, Disney may be planning on releasing the remaining Star Wars prequels, Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith, in 3D sometime next year. When the mouse house acquired Lucasfilm, they shelved the release of Episodes II and III due to the underwhelming box office for the 3D release of The Phantom Menace. Now it looks like they may be having a change of heart.

Judd Apatow To Direct Train Wreck, Which Hopefully Won’t Be One
Prolific comedy writer, producer and director Judd Apatow is about to heml his fifth film. Titled Train Wreck, it will star stand-up comic and Comedy Central darling Amy Schumer, who also wrote the script, which The Hollywood Reporter cites is about "a basket case who tries to rebuild her life." Casting for the film is now underway, just as Apatow oversees the final touches on Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues.
