When Whiplash premiered as the opening film at this year's Sundance Film Festival, it took the critics by storm. Almost every year, there is a movie that premieres at Sundance that people can't stop talking about, and it's very possible that Whiplash could be that movie this year.

Pilot Episode For AMC’s Halt And Catch Fire Is Currently Available Online

At the moment, there does not appear to be much buzz surrounding AMC's upcoming series Halt and Catch Fire, but perhaps there should be. The show has an intriguing cast which includes Lee Pace (Pushing Daisies), Scoot McNairy (Non-Stop), Mackenzie Davis (That Awkward Moment) and Kerry Bishé (Argo). But more intriguing is the premise: a dramatic thriller set in the early 1980s right in the midst of the PC revolution, where the series' stars attempt to exploit aspects of IBM's PC design in order to create their own personal computer. AMC ordered 10 episodes for the first season and this week, the pilot was made available online right up until May 30th.

Last year marked Swanberg's first real flirtation into the mainstream with Drinking Buddies, which featured Jake Johnson, Olivia Wilde, Ron Livingston and Anna Kendrick - by far the starriest cast he's ever had. Now, a trailer has dropped for Swanberg's latest, Happy Christmas, which finds him reuniting with Anna Kendrick once again. Could this be the beginning of a new phase in the director's career?
