Almost right from the start, HBO's Westworld had viewers hooked. Whether it was the intriguing premise, the brilliant writing or the fantastic performances - not to mention all the sex and violence - there was a lot to love about the new sci-fi show. But perhaps what kept people coming back most was the shocking twists and turns, and all the fun everyone had in trying to keep up with them.
Earlier today, Sony and Marvel released a brand new trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming and so far, the response has been overwhelmingly positive. From some hilarious interactions between Peter and Tony to a few terrific action set pieces and even an extended look at Michael Keaton's menacing Vulture, the preview delivered everything we were hoping to see and more, leaving us feeling very optimistic about the film.
Ever since Sony announced plans to push forward with their Venom spinoff, the studio has come under heavy scrutiny from fans, and rightfully so. First off, the last time they brought us a live-action adaptation of the character was in the terrible Spider-Man 3. But everyone deserves a second chance and we're willing to give them one. Or at least, we were, until we found out that Venom won't be connected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and as such, won't feature Spidey.
The long-awaited adaptation of Stephen King's The Dark Tower is set to hit theatres on July 28th - though you wouldn't know it. Aside from a clever one-sheet and a few photos, we've seen nothing from the film, and that's definitely a bit concerning. Starring Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey, the tentpole was initially being positioned as a franchise starter for the studio, so why they haven't really begun marketing yet is a mystery.
As expected, a brand new trailer for Jon Watts' Spider-Man: Homecoming has swung online this morning, giving us another great look at Spidey's upcoming reboot, which drops into theatres on July 7th.
In the lead up to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story's release on Blu-ray (look for it on April 4th) we've been learning a ton about the spinoff thanks to all the various interviews director Gareth Edwards and some of his crew have been doing to promote it. From the fact that Jyn's mom was almost a Jedi to a few alternate endings and even some scrapped cameos, it's been a non-stop parade of fun facts for fans to feast on. That continues today, too, as Edwards has now revealed a new easter egg in his film, and it's actually pretty interesting.
FX's Legion is approaching the end of its first season, and up to this point it's garnered great acclaim from fans and critics alike for its brilliantly unconventional (if at times a little confusing ) approach to the standard "superhero" story - although, some have taken issue with its refusal to acknowledge certain elements from the source material.
Though it hasn't been officially confirmed just yet, there's a very good chance that the first trailer for Mama director Andrés Muschietti's re-adaptation of Stephen King's classic horror novel, IT, will be online at some point this Wednesday. Warner Bros. certainly seem to be hyping something up, anyways, as they've just released a trio of terrifying new stills from the movie.
There's a lot of hype surrounding Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 right now, and understandably so. The first film was a smashing success for Marvel, both critically and commercially, and so far, the sequel looks to be even better. Test screening scores have been through the roof and box office analysts are predicting one of the biggest openings of all-time. So, it seems like a no brainer then that director James Gunn would want to return for the recently confirmed Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, right? Well, maybe not.
After some set pics made their way online not too long ago, we now have our very first look at Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft in the upcoming Tomb Raider adaptation. Based on the popular video game series of the same name, the film also stars Dominic West and Walton Goggins and has Roar Uthaug behind the camera.
