Morgan Freeman brought James Patterson’s Alex Cross to life in Kiss the Girls and Along Came a Spider. Since then we haven’t seen the character in a film nor has Freeman had a chance to bring back the character. But now QED will give audiences another chance to see Alex Cross on the big screen for a third time, but in a rebooted format.
A couple of weeks ago we reported that Steve Carell was in negotiations to star alongside Meryl Streep in Great Hope Springs. The film would have Streep play a wife who goes to a therapist to talk about her loveless marriage. Carell would be playing as the therapist. Although Red Dawn has yet to find a distributor, MGM isn’t letting that stop them from making some minor changes to the 1984 remake. The L.A. Times is reporting that the studio has begun to show the film off to potential distributors. The problem is that the distributors are nervous about becoming associated with the film. They are concerned that doing so would harm their ability to do business with the rising Asian superpower, one of the fastest-growing and potentially most lucrative markets for American movies, not to mention other U.S. products.

Cars may not have been Pixar’s highest grossing movie, but it was one of the biggest concerning merchandising. The sequel on the other hand, may have a harder time making money, partially due to its unoriginal story. International espionage, car chases, and explosions, this film seems to lack the originality that Pixar prides itself in and it is because of that unoriginality that my interest in this film is at an all time low.
