Some Avengers: Endgame fans have complained that the Thanos we saw in the movie was a less complex, more one-dimensionally villainous version of the nuanced character we got in Avengers: Infinity War, complete with a badass new sword. But no matter how he came across in the sequel, Thanos was still the same person, still motivated by the same philosophy, and still imbued with the same single-minded devotion to his cause.
There's no shortage of powerful weapons in the MCU. In the old days, there was the Iron Man armor and Captain America's shield. The arrival of Thor and his enchanted hammer Mjolnir then opened the franchise up to cosmic weaponry while Avengers: Infinity War revealed the full might of the Infinity Gauntlet and the Stormbreaker ax, both of which were created on the planet Nidavellir at the hands of Eitri (Peter Dinklage).
Hobbs & Shaw arrives in theaters this Friday and it's fair to say that fans of the Fast and Furious series are excited to see the spinoff featuring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham, which will have them battling a villainous Idris Elba. Of course, the film is said to be chock full of celebrity cameos as well and not one or two but four post-credit scenes that set up potential sequels and tease what lies ahead for the franchise.
Brandon Routh will be playing Superman again in the upcoming Arrowverse crossover Crisis On Infinite Earths, but the hero will be a bit different this time.
A sequel to Doctor Strange was announced at the San Diego Comic-Con last weekend and we now know that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be released on May 7th, 2021. Obviously, fans are pretty hyped for it, too. Not just because the snarky, powerful superhero portrayed by Benedict Cumberbatch has become a firm favorite, but because his next movie may very well be the most important entry in the MCU yet.
If you've seen Spider-Man: Far From Home, you will know by now that one of the biggest twists in the movie has nothing to do with Spidey at all. In a post-credits scene, it is revealed that the Nick Fury and Mariah Hill we have been following in the film so far are actually Skrulls in disguise, a species of shape-changing aliens first introduced in Captain Marvel. This opens up a possibility of explaining a previous Marvel plot hole that sheds entirely new light on Fury's role in the upcoming MCU movies.
The Mad Max franchise is one of those rare action film series that's gained critical as well as commercial acclaim. Director George Miller delivered the most recent installment, Mad Max: Fury Road back in 2015, and it's frequently counted amongst the greatest action flicks of the past few decades. Naturally, then, fans are curious to know when they'll get to see a sequel.
