Rob Lowe Climbs Aboard Paramount’s Monster Trucks

When the distribution contract that Paramount Pictures had enjoyed with Dreamworks Animation came to an end in 2012, the studio took the bold step of forming their own, new animation division – Paramount Animations – for the first time since 1967. Jumping straight in, the studio are stomping their foot on the gas with Monster Trucks, which has now added Rob Lowe to its cast list.

Guillermo del Toro Unleashes A New Teaser Trailer For The Strain

When Guillermo del Toro first conceived The Strain, he intended it to be a vampire horror TV series, between three and five seasons long. Nobody would buy it, however, so he and Chuck Hogan turned it into a trilogy of novels, comprising of 'The Strain' (2009), 'The Fall' (2010) and 'The Night Eternal' (2011). Unsurprisingly, a trilogy of vampire horror novels from the mind behind Pans Labyrinth proved to be quite popular - so FX decided to make it a TV show after all.

Paramount And MGM Are Revisiting Ben-Hur With Timur Bekmambetov

It’s not technically a remake, since the script for director Timur Bekmambetov's new production is based on the source novel "Ben-Hur: A Tale Of The Christ," and not the 1959 film adaptation that starred Charlton Heston and won 11 Academy Awards. But still, audiences will undoubtedly be rolling their eyes at the prospect of yet another unoriginal story elbowing its way into the multiplexes. Nicholas Stoller Says Uptown Saturday Night Is Still On Its Way

Have you noticed that non-romantic pairings of actors in Hollywood movies in recent years have largely followed the ‘big star/little star’ pattern? Martin Freeman Talks Sherlock Season Four

There’s a reason the BBC show Sherlock is so popular. Sure, it’s inventive and entertaining but, let’s face it, the show’s creators – Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffatt - got incredibly lucky when they landed stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman for the lead roles, just as they were both on the cusp of mega-stardom. Such fortunes undoubtedly give the show a huge ratings boost, but ultimately cause its biggest problem as well – at least in terms of putting together future seasons.
