USA Network Announces Its Own Hacking Drama, Mr. Robot

While Hollywood continues to implement damage control measures, after one of its biggest studios succumbed to a massive, ongoing cyber attack, USA Network has seen opportunity amidst the crisis. Coincidentally having a pilot on its slate called Mr Robot, the network has now picked it up for series – realising the potential interest in a show set in the murky world of computer hacking. The network recently announced its intention to focus on drama, and Mr Robot is one of five drama pilots it ordered in 2014.

Wonder Woman And The Six-Script Rumour

The world rejoiced when Warner Bros and DC announced that they would deliver the first ever live-action Wonder Woman movie to cinemas in 2017. For seven decades, the iconic comic book character has been continually passed over in favour of her male counterparts – Superman and Batman – until Zack Snyder finally opened the door to her with the upcoming Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice. Now, with the role cast and actress Gal Gadot apparently locked in for a multi-picture deal, we can look forward to Princess Diana of Themyscira asserting her status on the big screen for the foreseeable future.

Neil Gaiman On Sandman: Cumberbatch, Hiddleston And An Imminent Script

There is good reason to be getting very excited for the film adaptation of Sandman that is currently in development. Jack Thorne is writing a script under the supervision of David S. Goyer and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and this is the closest that anybody has ever come to getting Neil Gaiman’s beloved 1989 graphic novel onto the screen. Many have tried, and many have failed – some scuppered by Gaiman himself, in his quest to prevent the production of versions of his work that he felt were below par. This time, however, it seems the creator himself is being kept at the centre of the endeavour – as he explained to the Radio Times.

More Cast Added To Syfy’s Childhood’s End

Clarke’s beloved 1953 science fiction novel, Childhood’s End, into a six hour miniseries seems ambitious, the Syfy project is now gathering momentum as it prepares to go before the cameras. Adapted by Matthew Graham (Life On Mars), with the helm to be taken by Nick Hurran (Doctor Who), the television event has now added Daisy Betts (Shutter) and Julian McMahon (Nip/Tuck) to a cast that already features Charles Dance (Game Of Thrones), Mike Vogel (Under The Dome), Ashley Zukerman (Terra Nova), Osy Ikhile (The Anomaly) and Yael Stone (Orange Is The New Black).

Tom Hanks Considers Stepping Into The Circle

Film financiers are about to give consideration to a movie package that would see Tom Hanks star in and produce a cinematic adaptation of the 2013 novel The Circle, by David Eggers.
