Critics’ Choice Movie Awards Countdown: Best Acting Ensemble

The Critics’ Choice Movie Awards will air live on VH1, Thursday, January 12th. The show will be hosted by the very funny Rob Huebel, from Cartoon Network’s Children’s Hospital, and Paul Scheer from the FX comedy The League. The show will also feature Fitz and the Tantrums as the CCMA house and a special award for director Martin Scorsese. In order to keep you excited about the awards I am profiling the nominees in each of the major categories.

Two And A Half Men Season 9-13 ‘Slowly And In A Circular Fashion’ Recap

We’ve talked about random character motivations in this space before; Two and a Half Men is well known for character inconsistencies. This week’s Two and a Half Men featured the random introduction of the name of Walden’s (Ashton Kutcher) company, ‘Walden Loves Bridget.’ It also introduced newly-crazed Bridget’s (Judy Greer) random choice to remove Walden as the head of his company and Walden’s mom Robin's (Mimi Rogers) equally random choice to support Bridget over her son.

2 Broke Girls Season 1-13 ‘And The Secret Ingredient’ Recap

It’s as if the producers of 2 Broke Girls sensed that I was softening on the show and decided to poke me with a stick. First they indicated that the horse was being brought back, for at least a cameo, and then the episode, titled “And the Secret Ingredient,” quickly devolved into a horrifyingly unfunny treatise on the price of vending machine tampons and extreme couponing.

How I Met Your Mother Season 7-13 ‘Tailgating’ Recap

Marshall (Jason Segal) and Lily (Alyson Hannigan) have evolved into the true heart of How I Met Your Mother. Yes, this is in opposition to the show’s title and premise but this is nonetheless where the story has developed. Currently, Ted (Josh Radnor) is a cartoonish man-child with only a casual eye out for the future mother of his children. Where Ted’s romantic quest was central to the show we now have wonderfully Marshall-Lily-centric episodes such as ‘Tailgating’ to help us forget the fact that How I Met Your Mother has forgotten everything it was conceived on.
