Alienation is a solid shooter that ends with a whimper and then asks players to do it all again. The hooks just aren't there to make it a game that players want to replay after completing its relatively short campaign, and it kills any goodwill with a disappointing post-game.
Despite the name there aren't many classics included in this compilation. The historical value is rich, though, and the 3D remakes by M2 are top notch. It's just too bad that better games weren't included.
KOI is a pretty face with not much to offer beyond that. The gameplay has little substance to it, and it feels repetitive, even though the whole thing lasts less than two hours. It's a nice idea, but one that shows China's indie scene still needs time to develop.
RPG fans, get your wallets ready. Atlus has announced that they'll be bringing Shim Megami Tensei: Final to North America, but it'll have a different name. The side-story to 2013's SMT IV, Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse will release exclusively on Nintendo 3DS this summer. The role-playing game came out earlier this year, February 10, in Japan.
Soda Drinker Pro is a hilarious joke, but that doesn't make for a compelling game. While you'll get some laughs out of the hour and a half it takes to complete, you won't be thrilled with the secret unlockable game which is more of a disappointment than the virtual soda drinking.
NIS America has announced that PlayStation 4 and Vita owners will only have to wait a few more months until they can get their hands on PSYCHO-PASS: Mandatory Happiness, as it's set to release on September 13 in North America, and September 16 in Europe. The MAGES developed title was also confirmed for a PC release (via Steam), but that version hasn't received a firm date yet.
If you're a hardcore rally racing fan then DiRT Rally is the best game that Codemasters has made. That said, it doesn't do a great job of helping new players get into the hang of things, which is very disappointing.
Skullgirls 2nd Encore loses some visual luster, but that's about it. Besides the disappointing graphical downgrade, players are getting an identical experience to the console version. Considering it's cross-buy, there's a lot to like here.
Idea Factory International is continuing their PC support, and will bring over yet another Hyperdimension Neptunia spin-off to PC. Releasing April 18, Hyperdevotion Noire: Goddess Black Heart will mark the first time that the strategy RPG is available in high definition. The former PlayStation Vita exclusive was developed by Sting, and released early last year in North America.
Publisher Badland Games has teamed up with Roll7 to bring their hit skateboarding series to retail. Available this Summer, OlliOlli: Epic Combo Edition will include both games in the series, 2014's OlliOlli and last year's OlliOlli 2: Welcome to Olliwood, on one disc. The compilation is currently set only to release on PlayStation 4, and no pricing details have been announced yet.
