New Dr. Dre Track Called Chillin’ Featuring Swizz Beatz
Here's a new track from Dr. Dre featuring Swizz Beatz called Chillin'. It's unclear whether this is off 'Detox' or just another random song that leaked but like the other songs that released so far, I'm very unimpressed considering the ridiculously long wait for this album. It should be noted that this song sounds unfinished. If you listen to Dre's vocals (he actually doesn't rap much at all on this), it sounds unmixed.

Nate Dogg’s Attorney Confirms Cause of Death
After the West coast crooner's death on Wednesday, his attorney, Mark Geragos, confirmed that the former Death Row Records singer died from complications from multiple strokes. He suffered at least two strokes within 10 months of each other in 2007-2008, the first of which left him paralyzed in his left side.

Final Mass Effect 2 DLC Dated
According to Bioware, the final mission for the highly acclaimed Mass Effect 2 called Arrival will launch at the end of the month. In Arrival, Commander Shepherd is to rescue an undercover operative who has information on the approaching Reaper invasion. It is said that Admiral Hackett from the first Mass Effect will also be making a return and will be playing a key role in the story.

Cunninlynguists – Oneirology Review
The Cunninlynguists never disappoint. Since their debut in 2001, they've been one of the freshest acts from the South but it was their 2005 opus 'A Piece of Strange' that marked the beginning of the group's second phase when they really found their niche and developed a sound that is truly unique.

Nate Dogg Passes Away at Age 41
Late last night, West coast singer Nathanial Dwayne Hale aka Nate Dogg passed away at age 41. The cause of death is currently unclear although it's likely attributed to two major strokes he had in 2007 and 2008, the former of which caused the entire left side of his body to be paralyzed.

J. Cole Releases New Song Called Killers
Here's a new track from North Carolina's J. Cole called Killers. This is easily the best song I've heard from Cole in a while now. From the title alone, you'd expect this to be a typical braggadocio gangster rap song but J. Cole comes at it with his soulful take on the subject. The first verse is especially emotional as he talks about shooting a man, feeling ashamed and coming home to tell his mom it's not her fault that his life turned out like it is.

Marvel vs. Capcom 3 DLC Characters Delayed [UPDATE]
Capcom has announced on their Japanese website and it was also reported by andriasang that the two DLC characters Jill Valentine and Shuma Gorath will be delayed due to the tragic earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan on Friday. A new date will be announced when it is set. The two characters were supposed to be available tomorrow, March 15th for 400MSP or $5 each (or free if you bought the Collectors Edition).

What If I Had Made Lupe Fiasco’s ‘Lasers’?
Oftentimes when an anticipated album fails to live up to the expectations set by the songs that were previously released on the net, I will do what I can to salvage it by creating my own version of the album for my own listening pleasure in sort of a "1.5" remake. In the case of Lupe Fiasco’s ‘Lasers’, I was disappointed in the album (read my 'Lasers' review here) but I felt it could still be saved. There were lots of songs that hit the net before its release that were supposed to be on the album but were eventually left off as well as a bunch of loose tracks so I took off the weak links on the album, replaced them with the other songs and placed them in the tracklist where they fit best.

Commemorating the 14th Anniversary of Biggie’s Death
Fourteen years ago today on March 9th 1997, Christopher Wallace aka The Notorious B.I.G. aka Biggie Smalls was shot and killed in a still unsolved drive-by shooting. The hip hop world lost an icon that day and it signified not only the death of one of the best to ever do it but also the death of an era of music. An era when hip hop was raw and came from the streets. An era when a crack dealer from Brooklyn could blow up and take the world by storm. An era before record labels took total control of the music industry. An era when artists were free to speak from the heart and still be embraced by the radio and the general public.
