The Killing Season 1-05 ‘Super 8’ Recap
Previously on AMC's The Killing, as we are told at the beginning of every episode, we found out what could be a massive revelation in the case of the murder of Rosie Larsen. It was discovered that her teacher, Bennet Ahmed, was involved in a romantic relationship with the deceased and constantly wrote love letters and met up during school hours in a real crummy part of Seattle, the last stop on the bus journey she took, ironically.

Marisa Tomei In Talks For The Lead Female Role In Aaron Sorkin’s HBO Drama
The cast for Aaron Sorkin's brand new drama set up at HBO, which is rumored to be titled More As This Story Develops, is slowly beginning to form. Previously it has been said that Jeff Daniels would take the lead role of night news anchorman Will McAllister, and Greg Mottola would be directing the pilot. Today it has been announced that Marisa Tomei is in final talks to play McAllister's executive producer MacKenzie, a woman dedicated to her job.

Director Steven Soderbergh has been saying for a while that after his next few movies he's moving on to other things other than directing, and now Ryan Phillippe looks to be joining him. At only 36. Thor Review
The summer season begins and in no better way, with a bang. I have to admit ever since I heard Kenneth Branagh, the popular Thespian actor and director, was going to be directing a mega budget version of Thor from the Marvel comics, I was as excited as a giddy little school boy. My thought was precisely the same as Natalie Portman's when campaigning for the lead female role of Jane Foster. She said "Kenneth Branagh doing Thor is super-weird, I've gotta do it." Or in my case, I need to see this. As we heard of all kinds of stories around the production about the 3D, the reshoots and Chris Hemsworth's acting ability, my anticipation lowered somewhat. But then we saw trailers and more of the marketing and I was back to the giddy school boy again. This is a film that is sincere in intention but knows how silly parts of it actually are. Branagh is an incredibly intelligent man and he knows that the story of Thor is essentially a silly comic book conceit. So very much like Jon Favreau did with Iron Man, you underpin it with a sense of humor and make it a rollicking good time.

New Image Of Meryl Streep & Jim Broadbent In The Iron Lady
This morning we wake up to a new image brought to us via The Daily Mail from the upcoming Margaret Thatcher biopic called The Iron Lady. The image depicts the ex-British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher with her loyal husband Dennis at a Conservative Party conference in Brighton in 1980. Meryl Streep is portraying Thatcher, the title refers to her nickname she was given due to her tough and stern nature, while Jim Broadbent portrays Dennis.

New Submarine Trailer Released
One of the year's most interesting and inventive movies is Submarine, a small indie movie directed by Richard Ayoade. The film is set in no distinct time and centres around the awkward, self indulgent 15 year old Oliver Tate who sees the world through his very unique and peculiar imagination. For a first time director, Ayoade has assembled a terrific cast of British actors including Paddy Considine (who is far and away the best thing in the film), Sally Hawkins, Noah Taylor and the two young leads played by Craig Roberts and Yasmin Paige.

New Trailer For Chimpanzee, A Documentary From Disney Nature
Today sees the release of a trailer for Disney's Earth Day 2012 nature documentary Chimpanzee. The distribution sector for this film is Disney Nature who had prior success with Earth, The Crimson Wing (a documentary about flamingos that never got a US release) and Oceans. The trailer is expected to play in front of another nature doc called African Cats, which gets released tomorrow. But today Yahoo! have released a trailer which showcases what looks to be a very nice and cute documentary about an orphaned chimp called Oscar. I have to say, I am quite cynical about this on many levels but the main one being the whole tone of the trailer, especially with the voice over guy, it's just nauseating. I'm sure lots of kids, who this is mainly aimed at, will love it but I'm not as convinced as many other journalists have been.

Robert Zemeckis To Return To Live Action With Flight
After Mars Needs Moms horribly tanked and Disney sunk the remake of Yellow Submarine, it looks like Robert Zemeckis has finally got the hint that everyone is a bit fed up of motion capture. The director is now in negotiations to direct Flight, a drama set up at Paramount that has Denzel Washington loosely attached to star. The script is written by John Gatins and was originally set up at DreamWorks for him to direct, it then got moved to Paramount and was then looking for a director. And with his slate clean Zemeckis got the opportunity to jump in. The film centres on an drug addicted, alcoholic pilot who Washington is expected to play, The Hollywood Reporter gives a brief outline of the script:

New X-Men: First Class International Trailer
I know they have a film to promote but I think Fox are now over doing it with the amount of trailers they are rattling out for the upcoming franchise reboot X-Men: First Class. They clearly want to showcase the film before release and really get it out there, which could be smart considering a lot has happened to the superhero genre since it left our screens in 2006. A lot of this trailer though is just recycled material with only a few new snippets. As said before I'm excited about this, it's shaping up as my most anticipated film for the summer, it looks great and the cast is fantastic. The film is directed by Matthew Vaughn, will be released on June 3rd. You can watch the trailer and read the synopsis below.
