After the release of her debut single ‘Last Man Standing,’ Victorious star, Victoria Justice has confirmed that her highly anticipated debut album is on its way.
The former Nickelodeon star spoke to Variety about her newest track and its significance after the singer celebrated her 30th birthday recently. She says that ‘Last Man Standing’ gives her the feeling of “empowerment” and how the song was able to capture that feeling, whilst also trying to make it sound fun and sexy.
“I’m stepping into my 30s in this place of feeling empowered. I feel like this song really captures a lot of that energy, and it’s fun, and it’s kind of sexy, and it’s got these very strong themes of female empowerment, so it just felt like a really good fit.”
Justice also told interviewers that an upcoming album is on its way. While it’s currently unknown when the album will be released, the singer said that she’s currently focusing on releasing singles. But at the same time, she has a collection of songs that she’s “really proud of.”
“I definitely am releasing an album — that’s happening. I can’t say that that is done right now by any means, but I think right now, I’m focusing on releasing some singles. I have a collection of songs right now that I’m really proud of.”
The singer released six singles, including her newest track. She also released a song for the Netflix film, Afterlife of the Party, titled ‘Home,’ featuring Spencer Sutherland.
Asides from Victorious, Justice starred in a few episodes of the original iCarly series and has done a few voiceover jobs for other children’s shows. Her acting career has not ended just yet as she’s set to star in the upcoming 2023 film, The Tutor, with Tron: Legacy star Garrett Hedlund and Stranger Things‘ Noah Schnapp. Unfortunately, Justice will not be reprising her role as Lola Martinez, nor will she be involved in the upcoming Zoey 101 reboot.
‘Last Man Standing’ is now available to stream on most music platforms.
