As former President Donald Trump descended on a Manhattan courthouse for his historic arraignment today, rabble rouser and constant liar Marjorie Taylor Greene held a protest in a nearby park. It didn’t go well, and fellow congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez made sure to let Greene know.
Greene’s appearance at Collect Pond Park saw her struggling to be heard even though she had a bullhorn, and the protest had something that’s becoming pretty common these days: Press and police outnumbering Trump supporters.
No one could hear hear over the sound of whistles, which were, hilariously, being handed out by a fellow Trump supporter. She was jeered, yelled at, and then whisked away.
“New York hates you!” someone can be heard yelling. This is the kind of energy that AOC brought to Greene on Twitter.
AOC was responding to a tweet about how Greene was being completely drowned out by protestors. There are still “social consequences” for “shameless bigotry” in New York, AOC said.
To add some insult to the injury, AOC included an emoji of the Statue of Liberty. Here’s the guy who was handing out whistles. A true American (even if it’s not in the way he thinks).
According to The New York Times, Greene didn’t really defend Trump as much as throw mud at Democrats, using the tried-and-true Republican tactic of avoidance, bringing up stuff that’s totally unrelated, and blaming Joe Biden. In this case it’s that Democrats are “communists.” Wow, really dug deep for that one, Greene.
“We’re the party that wants to protect the lives of the unborn, we’re the party of male and female, two genders only,” Greene said. “We’re the party of secure borders. We’re the party that will bring peace to the world like President Trump did, not World War III, like Joe Biden is doing.”
