The entire world remembers exactly where they were during the high-profile legal battle between Hollywood actors Amber Heard and Johnny Depp last year. Eventually, the court proceedings came to a definitive conclusion — which saw Heard needing to pay a whopping $15 million to Depp after accusations of defamation based around Heard’s 2018 op-ed. But despite the specific dollar amount eventually being settled between the actors’ legal teams, it appears as though another bout of legal woes has struck Heard a little over one year later.

As per RadarOnline, an ongoing legal situation involving Heard pertains to her defamation case with Depp back in the summer of 2022. After court documents were obtained, it was revealed that Heard is now demanding a legal issue with New York Marine and General Insurance Co. be dismissed, despite the company originally suing Heard back in 2022, some time after the trial with Depp.

Despite Heard taking on New York Marine and General Insurance Co. to help cover a portion of the verdict, the company insisted it was not to be held liable for the money if Heard had “willfully” committed the wrongdoing against Depp. Since the verdict back in 2022 found Heard guilty of malice in her op-ed, the company has argued that it is not responsible for covering a portion of the verdict against Depp.

As of now, Heard has pleaded with the assigned judge to drop the case, claiming that the company offered to cover the expenses “with no restrictions.” A judge has yet to make an official ruling on the case, but the Aquaman actress has insisted that “there is nothing left to dispute.”
