We all feel the need to reinvent ourselves in the summer. Whether we’re embracing some summer love or fresh off a breakup, it never hurts to spice up your wardrobe. For Brie Larson, her dating life isn’t all that complicated; she broke it off with actor-filmmaker Elijah Allan-Blitz this year and seems to be enjoying the single life.
In this new phase, Larson is reining in her unicorn obsession (which began with 2017’s Unicorn Store) and starting to stirrup a commotion on Twitter as she announced that “Horse Girl Summer” has begun. Over on Larson’s Twitter, she’s pictured donning a button-down shirt with daisies and a picture of a horse printed on the left side, and her braided pigtails are certainly reminiscent of a stereotypical “farmer’s daughter” look.
We’ll rightly assume that Larson has either gone horseback riding recently or she’s just bought herself a horse. Either that, or she’s been watching far too much Yellowstone. Regardless, we’re sure that Samuel L. Jackson would have much to say on Larson’s betrayal as she leaves unicorns in the dust for another identical, four-legged mammal.
Jackson has yet to pass comment on Larson’s selfies, but anyone interested in seeing their performances in Unicorn Store can do so by perusing the Netflix catalog. Larson plays a failing art student who’s kicked out of school and working a mundane job. One day, she’s approached by a salesman (Jackson) who offers her the once-in-a-lifetime chance to fulfill her childhood dream by adopting a unicorn.
It all sounds a bit far-fetched, but Unicorn Store is actually a real delight. Don’t let the critics fool you; when they’re not begrudgingly teaming up as Nick Fury and Captain Marvel in the MCU, Larson and Jackson make quite the comedic pair in a casual, fun, and fantastical comedy-drama.
