Britney Spears allegedly struck by NBA star Victor Wembanyama’s security

Since when do security guards brutally attack fans?

Britney Spears filed a police report after being allegedly being assaulted by the security team of NBA star Victor Wembanyama last night in Las Vegas. The singer was seen trying to get the attention of the NBA star before being attacked by his security team.

TMZ reported that prior to the attack, Spears attempted to tap Wembanyama’s shoulder at the ARIA hotel since she’s a fan of the basketball star. Immediately after the pop star approached the NBA star, she was backhanded by his security team and fell to the ground, which knocked off her glasses.

The security guard apologized to Spears the moment she sat at the table at the Catch restaurant, claiming that he was doing his job and that she should understand considering that fans swarm her as well. At the same time, the guard claimed that he “didn’t know who she was” when they attacked her.

ESPN reported that Spears commented on the incident, stating that her security team “doesn’t hit any of them” whenever she gets swarmed by fans. She also addressed the incident on her Instagram Story, hoping that his security team will deliver a public apology.

“I have yet to get a public apology from the player, his security or their organization. I hope they will”

Meanwhile, Wembanyama also commented on the situation, stating that he was not aware that Spears was attacked and was shocked when the news made the headlines. He was also surprised when he learned that it was Spears trying to approach him.

“I didn’t know for a couple hours, but when I came back to the hotel … I thought it was no big deal, and then security of the Spurs told me it was Britney Spears. At first, I was like, ‘You’re joking,’ but yeah, it turns out it was Britney Spears. I never saw her face. I just kept walking straight.”

TMZ reported that Spears had accepted the apology privately after the incident at the restaurant. However, a police report was filed with the Metropolitan Police Department for battery allegations and that the authorities are treating the incident “as serious as a heart attack.”

The CCTV footage shows the security guard pushing Spears’ hand away, then striking her in the face. It’s currently unknown how forceful the strike was, and TMZ’s source says the police is treating it as a criminal investigation, and will likely be referred to the district attorney.
