After taking a brief hiatus from Hollywood in 2019, the A-lister returned to screens and red carpets earlier this year with a fresh-faced look that fans were forced to question: did Jennifer Lawrence have plastic surgery?
While the actress has admitted to some procedures in the past, her renewed beauty when returning to the spotlight naturally saw fans speculate about whether she’s been under the knife in more recent times. What we do know is that Jennifer Lawrence has had a nose job. Around 2011, fans noticed that the Hunger Games star’s nose was more linear than in previous years, which Lawrence herself attributed to a rhinoplasty procedure. At the time, Lawrence said the surgery was for medical purposes rather than cosmetic, to amend her deviated septum.
The effect altered the overall profile of her nose, which is now enviably sleek. Moving down the face, fans were also quick to suggest that Lawrence has had lip fillers, given the gradual plumpness of her lips throughout the years. While she has yet to confirm this procedure, the surgeons over at MYA Cosmetic Surgery speculate that she has had some form of lip filler.
Lawrence’s lips look fuller now than in previous ones, which can be attributed to some nifty makeup tricks like over-lining or plump gloss or a dermal filler procedure. Plastic surgeon Dr. Anthony Youn believes Lawrence has had lip filler, telling The Skin Care Edit that she has likely received lip injectables to achieve her “nice plump pout.”
Though she likewise hasn’t confirmed the procedure, it’s also likely that — like everyone in Hollywood (and even this writer) — Lawrence has had some form of Botox. The actress’ smooth, crease-free skin never wavers under red carpet lights, which Youn attitudes to Botox that “smooth[s] her forehead and lift[s] her eyebrows.”
Perhaps the most notable procedure that fans think Lawrence has undergone is blepharoplasty, an eyelid surgery that removes excess fatty tissue above and/or above the eyes. Lawrence’s stunning eyes are noticeably more visible in recent years, with her perpetually youthful glow likely a result of eyelid surgery.
MYA claims that some photos of a faint scar around Lawrence’s eyes might be the result of eyelid procedures, with Youn also agreeing that the actress has “benefitted from a well-performed rhinoplasty.”
Regardless of her surgical history, Lawrence continues to turn heads and perform killer roles, so her experiences under the knife are secondary to the entertainment she has provided since her breakout role in 2010’s Winter’s Bone.
