Elizabeth Olsen makes it clear who could take down Scarlet Witch in the MCU

She'll be singing a different tune when we get to 'Secret Wars.'

Who is the most powerful Avenger? Elizabeth Olsen, who portrays the Scarlet Witch in the MCU, has an idea, and it might surprise you.

At a recent fan event, a moderator asked Olsen a very important question: “Is the Scarlet Witch the strongest Avenger ever?” After taking a beat to ponder, Olsen gave her answer. “I think so,” she said, to rapturous applause.

“I mean I don’t know who would beat me,” she said and laughed, “besides herself.” It is common knowledge that she is indeed one of the more powerful characters in the MCU, and definitely in the Avengers. But undefeatable? Not too sure about that. Strongest? She might have a point.

Last year, Insider used science to rate the strength of all of the Avengers, from Mantis (the weakest at number 28) to Captain America (number four). Number one? It was indeed Wanda Maximoff.

“Wanda was the only hero who was able to face Thanos one-on-one while sustaining zero injuries. And she did it twice,” Insider said. More rationale:

“Wanda held off Thanos with one hand in Infinity War — while simultaneously murdering her superhero boyfriend — and Thanos had already collected five stones by that time. She was on the verge of overpowering him in Endgame, and may have succeeded if he hadn’t ‘rained fire’ from his ships. He was scared, and he had every right to be.”

Also, we haven’t really seen a limit to Wanda’s powers yet, and she does seem to be getting stronger all the time. She even outranks the ultra powerful Captain Marvel, who comes in at two on the list. MCU boss Kevin Feige told Vulture that he thinks Captain Marvel is actually the strongest, even if Insider disagrees.

“Captain Marvel, she is as powerful a character as we’ve ever put in a movie,” Feige said to Vulture. “Her powers are off the charts, and when she’s introduced, she will be by far the strongest character we’ve ever had.”

Here’s the whole interaction with Olsen.

Only time will tell if Olsen is proved to be right or not.
