Ezra Miller makes first public appearance for ‘The Flash’ after months of controversy

Not many people expected Ezra to appear on the red carpet.

The premiere of DC’s latest superhero blockbuster, The Flash, came with a surprise public appearance from Ezra Miller. The actor faced multiple controversies last year, leading many to speculate if they would ever publicly appear throughout the film’s promotional tour.

Deadline reports that among the sea of actors and actresses appearing in the film, Miller was spotted as they wore a white suit, with their long hair tied up in a bun. Miller was also featured in a group photo with The Flash filmmakers Andy and Barbara Muschietti and DC Studio’s co-chiefs, James Gunn and Peter Safran.

Inside the theater, Miller gave a speech during the premiere, thanking everyone involved who made the film possible, including Zack Snyder. They also expressed gratitude to everyone who helped and supported them become in becoming a part of this ever-expanding DC Universe and caring for them in their personal life.

During The Flash‘s world premiere in CinemaCon 2023, Andy Muschietti discussed Miller’s recovery following controversies that arose in 2022. He revealed that the actor needed a “serious intervention” and that they’ve taken steps to recover from their mental health issues. Leading up to the film’s release, the DC director stated his desire for Miller to continue to play the Flash since he believed the role was “made for them.”

At the moment, Miller’s future in DC remains uncertain due to the various statements that were made throughout the past 12 months. However, based on the early reactions throughout the various advanced screenings, it seems people enjoyed Miller’s performance, with some claiming that The Flash is the best DC superhero film they’ve seen.

The Flash is said to serve as the catalyst of the upcoming DC reboot, and it will dash its way to theaters on June 16, 2023.
