Hugh Jackman shares brutal workout required to become Wolverine again

This looks unpleasant.

With great power comes great responsibility… to get buff. Hugh Jackman — aka Wolverine — doesn’t just get into that shape from taking deep breaths. It takes a grueling workout regimen that honestly seems a little too intense for the average person. Also, he’s 54, so you know it can’t be that easy.

The Jackmonster shared what looks like one of the most grueling exercises a human being could ever do. You know how hard it is to plank? Go try it right now and see how well you do. OK, now put a huge weight on your back and slide back and forth while doing it. It looks insane and incredibly difficult.

“I’m #becomingwolverineagain.” he said in the caption. His trainer encourages him and he sarcastically says “good afternoon” before appearing to continue his workout. Take a look:

Jackman is of course returning to a role he played in various X-Men movies and the solo Logan, where he died but that was in the future and this one is based more in modern days. Also, these characters die and come back all the time. Superman and Batman have both been killed over the years and they just come back better than ever.

Jackman will appear in the upcoming Deadpool 3. We don’t know too much about Deadpool 3 just yet (besides a release date), but we do know that Marvel’s going to want to get this one right, especially since it’ll be the first time we’ll see the character officially in the MCU (he was previously in the 20th Century Fox movies before Marvel got the license).

Deadpool 3 is scheduled to hit theaters on Nov. 8 of next year.
