‘I’m f**king shaking’: Kanye West blames his MAGA hat for child custody issues

Rapper Kanye West harshly criticized his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, and several other celebrities in posts on social media. He claims that his support for Donald Trump and the backlash that followed have led to him being kept away from his children.

As reported by Page Six, in a string of emotional posts on X (the platform formerly known as Twitter), West says he has not seen his son Saint at all this year, even though photos from January show him with Saint and his three other youngest children while shopping in Tokyo.

These posts are part of a larger pattern of increasingly upset statements about his custody fight with Kardashian. He has gone as far as accusing influential people in the entertainment industry, and even the former president, of quietly allowing what he sees as an effort to keep him from his kids. The current dispute seems to be the result of multiple past incidents.

Kanye West claims to have not seen his children

Back in March, West already expressed frustration about having limited time with his children, comparing his visitation rights to “jail visitation.” His anger grew after he included his oldest daughter, North, in a song with Sean “Diddy” Combs, which went against Kardashian’s wishes. Kardashian took legal action to try to stop the song’s release, but West went ahead with it anyway, making tensions worse.

Another crisis happened when West planned to have the Tate brothers, Andrew and Tristan, at his home while North was visiting. Due to the Tate brothers’ controversial history and their arrests on charges related to the exploitation of women, Kardashian cut North’s visit short, saying she was worried about her daughter’s safety.

West’s claim that his political views are the reason he is being kept from his children is especially notable. He directly connects his decision to wear a “Make America Great Again” hat (a sign of his support for Trump) to what he believes is the loss of his parental rights.

He says this support caused a negative reaction that led to a custody agreement that greatly reduced his time with his children, pointing to not seeing Saint this year as a major example. He also suggests that powerful figures in entertainment, including Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Rihanna, Elon Musk, and even President Trump, are watching his struggle without stepping in. He says he feels helpless and silenced, believing his rights as a parent are being ignored.

The custody agreement between West and Kardashian, set after their 2021 divorce, gave them shared physical and legal custody of their four children: North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm. However, recent events and West’s public statements suggest that the arrangement is not working smoothly in practice. While West says he doesn’t just want to “see” his kids but also wants to be involved in raising them, calling himself a “good dad.”

Kardashian has said her main priority is the safety and well-being of her children, especially protecting them from what she sees as West’s unpredictable and controversial actions, including his social media rants and antisemitic comments.
