2025 was supposed to bring only happiness for influencer Lizzie Kieffer. But fate had other plans, as she lost her second daughter, a little over one year old, a few days ago.
The U.S.-based physical therapist and social media influencer, who specializes in women’s health, particularly in areas like pregnancy, postpartum recovery, pelvic floor therapy, and fertility wellness, had just announced her third pregnancy a few weeks ago. She, her husband, older daughter Mia, and 12-month-old Lilian “Lily” Louise had been excitedly prepping for the baby’s arrival in September this year.
But their happiness was short-lived as Lilian passed away on April 23. She and her husband, Matt Kieffer, are yet to learn the exact cause of their daughter’s death. Doctors have shared with the grieving parents that Lily had a large mass on her brain, which was never discovered while she was alive since “she never showed signs.” “We won’t know more answers with many of these things for months until further testing is done,” Kieffer added in her heartwrenching Instagram post, sharing that Lily is no longer with them.
“We are shattered. Wednesday we woke up to a nightmare that we never imagined becoming our reality. Our Lily passed away.
Our hearts, our bodies, our souls ache for her as she was the purist of beings and brought light to every single space she filled. Our days are written before we were even formed, and in Lily’s 374 days of life, she taught us more than I think many could in their lifetime.”
Despite the tragedy, Kieffer still has faith in God and trusts that he will bring “light to the darkest of places.”
“And we know Lily is being held so tight by Jesus and loved ones in heaven. And probably playing in her ball pit or riding in her little red car up there. We feel her.”
People has also shared the couple’s obituary for Lily, who “adored” her big sister, “whose every move brought her awe and delight.”
“She wrapped herself around her mother’s heart with a bond too deep for words and was a true Daddy’s girl, finding endless comfort and joy in her father’s arms. Her days were full of laughter and play—her favorite moments spent climbing into the ball pit, climbing up the stairs eager for the chase looking back with a giggle, or riding around in her little red car with Mia, the two of them side by side in simple, perfect happiness.”
According to her obituary, her funeral mass will take place on April 30.
