Murphy is known to be a private person. According to HotPress, the actor finds big movie premieres challenging and something he wouldn’t want to overcome. He also revealed during an interview with Metro that he isn’t comfortable with having a stylist and just wants to do his own thing. Having lead a mostly simple and private life, has he also kept his sexuality hidden?

Is Cillian Murphy gay?

Murphy started his acting career in 1996 and since then has said he’s not the type who enjoys huge events. However, he still uses his fame to do good, such as becoming a patron of the UNESCO Child and Family Research Centre back in 2011. Aside from his philanthropic activities, he has also made his relationship status public.

Murphy is straight – married to his long-time partner Yvonne McGuinness, an Irish visual artist. According to People Magazine, the two met back in the late 1990s when he starred in a play called Disco Pigs. They got married in 2004 and have two sons together.

Murphy is someone who values privacy. His social media accounts are private, and he rarely talks about his family and personal life. But that doesn’t stop him from working with one of the biggest filmmakers in the entertainment industry, and definitely not from starring in one of the biggest summer blockbusters of 2023.
