J.K. Rowling reminds everyone she used to be a writer with one of the year’s most savage comebacks

There isn't any water on the planet cold enough for this burn.

It’s easy to forget seeing as her number one pastime these days appears to be stoking the flames of discontent with her controversial views on gender identity, but believe it or not, J.K. Rowling first gained prominence and international attention as a writer.

An incredibly successful one at that, too, dare we say one of the most popular there’s ever been, until she decided the best way to secure a long-lasting legacy was to torpedo her reputation in front of the entire world, and then luxuriate in the fact she’s so rich that it doesn’t affect her in the slightest.

Harry Potter may have long since ended, and nobody really cares about Cormoran Strike to be brutally honest, but Rowling proved she hasn’t lost her touch when it comes to penmanship after she responded to one of her many trolls with a comeback so savage that the poor person on the receiving end could go full Steve Rogers and encase themselves in a block of ice for 70 years, and the burn still wouldn’t have healed.

All you’ve really got to say is “ouch,” because there’s absolutely no way of coming back from that one. In fact, it’s such a weapons-grade and A+ plus comeback that it’s a shame Rowling was the one who made it, with her self-aggrandizing on social media touting her vast wealth as a means to combat the unsavory comments regularly being thrown in her direction adding an air of smugness to her online goings-on.

That being said, you can’t help but appreciate such an incredible incineration.
