Jamie Foxx has finally been seen out and about after his hospitalization in April. The Spider-Man: No Way Home actor has been out of the spotlight for a few months, and wouldn’t even return co-star John Boyega’s calls ahead of the premiere of their Netflix comedy, They Cloned Tyrone.
Luckily, Boyega finally heard from Foxx and said the actor is “doing well” in his recuperation. And a week or so later, we have our first public sighting of Foxx since his health scare.
TMZ broke the news with a video taken by fans on Sunday showing Foxx cruising on a boat on the Chicago River:
The actor appears to be in good spirits and happy to see fans for the first time in a while.
According to TMZ, Foxx’s family members also have been photographed visiting the actor at a health care facility in Chicago. The rehab center apparently offers care to people recovering from strokes, spinal injuries, cancer, and other maladies.
Foxx suffered an undisclosed medical emergency on April 11, while on set shooting a film with Cameron Diaz called Back in Action. Although there’s been widespread speculation as to the nature of his condition, his family has kept the details private. At this point, there’s at least no indication that Foxx has cancer, per TMZ.
Foxx’s daughter, Corinne, has provided a few positive updates since the original incident, including that her father was happily playing pickleball.
Not that we know him personally, but cruising on a yacht seems more in line with Foxx’s style than pickleball, so we’re happy to see him back to what we consider to be his old self.
