The future of Fox NFL Sunday is going through a major change as longtime star Terry Bradshaw gets ready to retire, leaving a gap that could completely reshape the popular pre-game show. While people are guessing who might take Bradshaw’s place, Rob Gronkowski made it clear he isn’t going anywhere, at least not yet.
Gronkowski, who also won four Super Bowls, joined Fox NFL Sunday in 2022 after retiring from the NFL. Recently, there were rumors that he might move into coaching, but Gronkowski quickly shut them and told TMZ Sports that life is just “too good” to deal with the stress of coaching.
The Mirror reported on how Gronk talked about how demanding the job is, with long hours and constant pressure. While he said he might consider coaching youth football if he ever starts a family, for now, he’s fully focused on his current role.
If Gronk won’t replace Bradshaw, who will?
Bradshaw, who won four Super Bowls with the Pittsburgh Steelers, has been a key part of Fox NFL Sunday since it first started in 1994. The show’s one-hour format was a big change from the usual half-hour pre-game shows at the time, and it quickly became a must-watch for NFL fans, winning four Emmy Awards and gaining a reputation for fun debates and playful humor.
Now, after an amazing career both on the field and in the studio, Bradshaw has confirmed he plans to retire by the time he turns 80. This leaves Fox with the tough job of finding someone to replace a broadcasting legend.
This means Fox doesn’t just have to replace Bradshaw; they might also need to find new talent for other spots. Michael Strahan, another former NFL star who joined the show in 2008, has also been thinking about retirement. After his daughter Isabella’s battle with and recovery from brain cancer, he’s started to rethink his priorities and wants a slower-paced life.
He doesn’t plan to leave suddenly but expects to gradually step back from his busy schedule. Erin Andrews’ contract with Fox is about to expire, and while most people expect her to stay, nothing has been confirmed yet.

Fox is clearly looking at different options to fill these possible gaps. Tom Brady’s huge 10-year, $375 million deal with Fox means he’ll be with the network for a long time, making him a strong choice for a bigger role. However, his part ownership of the Las Vegas Raiders could cause scheduling problems.
Another interesting possibility is the Kelce brothers, Travis and Jason. Jason, who just retired from the NFL, has already made guest appearances on Fox, while Travis, who’s still playing, has said he’s very interested in broadcasting after he retires. Their podcast, New Heights, proves they have great chemistry and an entertaining style, making them a strong fit for the show.
