Margot Robbie is really living in a Barbie world with the press tours for the upcoming movie that has everyone so excited. The actress is sticking to the film’s major color scheme and wears pink everywhere she goes as she works hard to promote the film. Not that the film needs much more hype, as fans are figuratively chomping at the bit to rush to theatres as soon as it’s released.
Robbie has often been compared to the iconic children’s toy and cultural icon she will now embody on the screen thanks to her classic beauty, mesmerizing blue eyes, flowing blonde hair, and of course incredible acting skills. The press tour for the film started June 24, and the actress is really channeling her inner Barbie so far.
She posed for a shoot for the Barbie film’s social media account, wearing a matching two-piece set from Bottega Veneta in bubblegum pink, whilst wearing a pair of pink Manolo stilettos and posing next to a pink corvette.
She came out for a photo call again dressed in a very cute pink outfit, which contrasted very heavily with the other cast members who all looked very… beige. We don’t know if this was a deliberate choice to make Robbie stand out or not, (which she most definitely does) but it sort of just looks like everyone else did not get the memo that this was a Barbie photoshoot.
The Australian actress wore a polka-dot white and pink halter neck dress, with peek-a-boo mid-drift, by Valentino sporting Manolos once more. This was no, ‘oh it’s pink, let’s just chuck it on’ moment, oh no. Robbie’s stylist, Andrew Mukamal took direct inspiration from Barbie herself, posting a side-by-side on his Instagram. Now that is commitment.
The actress has been championing pink for some time now and also appears in the 2023 summer Vogue magazine sporting some beautiful pink looks from Versace. This is merely a taste, though, for the onslaught of pink that fans will face when they finally get to go see Barbie. The film apparently used so much pink paint that it caused a global shortage of the color!
So take your sunglasses so you aren’t blinded by the brilliance of it, when Barbie comes to theatres on July 21.
