Marjorie Taylor Greene may think she’s the Regina George of American politics, but her latest ‘burn’ proves otherwise

Just like Regina George from the movie Mean Girls, Marjorie Taylor Greene carries around a burn book to really stick it to her political enemies. And by “stick it,” I mean lie about them. Her latest so-called burn, however, only made her look like she was out of her depth completely.

Greene recently took to Twitter to try and own fellow lawmaker Eric Swalwell after he pointed out in a hearing not only her anti-law enforcement rhetoric but her desire to cash in on it. The best part? It’s a total self-own. At this point, does anyone take anything she says seriously?

Swalwell pointed out how Greene was selling “Defund the FBI” paraphernalia on her website. For the record, this is the same FBI that she asked to investigate Ali Alexander. What is it, Greene? Defund them, or use them as political pawns in your delusional burn game?

Want to see it in action? Greene posted the video herself. After Swalwell did his presentation, she fired back with something completely off topic to deflect attention from herself.

“That was quite entertaining from someone that had a sexual relationship with a Chinese spy.” What? How can she just say these things with no consequences? Even in the committee meeting they tried their best to make her recant, but she refused.

This move was perhaps more political than anything else, because if a statement is stricken from the record during a hearing, the person is no longer allowed to speak.

Did you see it? She gets accused of something and then brings up something completely different without even acknowledging the first thing. You know who else does this a lot? Former President Donald Trump. This is the era of politics we’re in: “Oh, I did this? Well you did something completely different and unrelated.” Maddening.

Let’s take a look at this accusation. Back in 2020 he was accused of having sex with Christine Fang, a woman who entered the country as a college student in 2011 and then got close to lawmakers to gain access to government intelligence.

Fang cooperated with federal investigations, and his office said he would not reveal anything to protect classified info, per the NY Post.

“Rep. Swalwell, long ago, provided information about this person — whom he met more than eight years ago, and whom he hasn’t seen in nearly six years — to the FBI,” Swalwell’s office said. “To protect information that might be classified, he will not participate in your story.”

Because he didn’t outright deny the allegation, or honestly even if he did, Greene jumped at the chance to take the focus off of herself and onto something completely different. “Blame the other guy.” It works in high school a la Mean Girls and also apparently in Congress.
