Megan Thee Stallion proves she can throw a first pitch in baseball, unlike recently-indicted Donald Trump

Megan Thee Stallion made her pitch look like a fashion statement.

Megan Thee Stallion took to the mound for the first pitch before the Chicago White Sox and Houston Astros game on Thursday night and looked ready to play the rest of the game. She sent that pitch down the home plate like it was nothing to the cheers of the entire stadium, reminding fans of the time Donald Trump made a spectacle of himself and struck out completely.

The Chicago White Sox beat the Houston Astros on Thursday night 3-2, but that wasn’t Megan Thee Stallion’s fault as it appeared she was backing the Astros. She stepped on the mound with an Astros jersey tied up around her waist and wearing all white down to the shoes. She was definitely a fashion statement that might start blowing up today, but she was there to throw the first pitch and she did the Astros proud.

There have been celebrities who have embarrassed themselves on the mound because they’re not aware of how far away the home plate is and how much sting to put behind the throw, but that wasn’t a problem for Megan Thee Stallion, who made the whole tradition look good. From the windup to the follow-through, she looked like she had done this before, and the crowd agreed.

Because of the fact that Donald Trump has recently been indicted for over 30 counts of business fraud, his name is hot on everyone’s mind, along with his embarrassing history of throwing the first pitch. First of all, he declined to throw out the first pitch in 2017, when the Washington Nationals invited him. As ESPN reports, it’s a tradition that started when William Taft was in office back in 1910, and 13 presidents in all have participated in first pitch ceremonies since.

When Donald Trump did participate in a first-pitch ceremony, it was in 2004 when the Somerset Patriots invited him. He showed up with his wife in his helicopter, landed on the field, waltzed up to the mound, threw a steamer down home plate, and left like he was too good to stick around for the game. It was a good pitch, but he could have shown the tradition a little more respect.

The first pitch is a special honor in baseball, a moment when the teams are trying to show their appreciation for a celebrity. Megan Thee Stallion showed respect for that honor, and that’s how it’s supposed to be done.
