Right now, actor Pedro Pascal is the world’s most-beloved fictional dad. He shines in the role on The Last of Us, got his claim to fame by doing it on The Mandalorian, and now the entertainer says that job is not as translatable as some people have assumed.

In a new interview on The Graham Norton Show which was subsequently picked up by Variety, Pascal says people will often approach him in public with their children and ask him to do the voice Din Djarin has on the show. Pascal adds he finds this to be uncouth and when you think about it, his role sounds like someone is being intimate with another person whenever he does speak,

“I think it sounds inappropriate because it is a breathy, low register ‘bedroom’ voice. It is creepy and doesn’t work in real life.”

Later in the chat, he says he is still trying to figure out all of the attention he is receiving and does not mind being upstaged by the Grogu puppet when the pair appear in scenes together. He says he feels like a real partner, but does manage to hog some shots, too.

“He is remarkably lifelike and a real screen partner, but does steal every scene!”

The next season of The Mandalorian premieres March 1. Earlier this month Pascal also told Empire wearing the full costume can be dangerous because he cannot see. He often worries about falling into a hole, they are trying to make it better and they will certainly have to. Jon Favreau has confirmed he has finished writing the show’s fourth season already and, eventually, his character is intended to cross over with some of the other shows in development for Disney Plus for a major and climactic storytelling event.
