Prince Harry refutes claims he gave ‘coward’ Prince Andrew a bloody nose after the pair got into a ‘physical fight’

Prince Harry reportedly got the better of Andrew after an argument turned physical.

Prince Harry has denied getting into a “physical fight” with his uncle, Prince Andrew, after details regarding an alleged bust up between the pair was published over the weekend.

Extracts from the royal biography of the Duke of York by author Andrew Lownie were published by the Daily Mail over the weekend. Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York delves into the life of Andrew. In it, Lownie refers to a specific incident in which Prince Harry and Prince Andrew allegedly got physically violent towards one another at a family gathering in 2013.

What happened?

According to Lownie, the altercation stemmed from “something Andrew said behind Harry’s back.” What exactly Andrew said about his nephew is unclear, however, Harry allegedly told his uncle that “he was a coward not to say it to his face.” At that point, if Lownie is to be believed, things got physical between the pair although “Harry got the better of Andrew by all accounts,” apparently leaving the Duke of York with a “bloody nose.”

In a separate incident at a later date, Andrew also made some rather hurtful comments about Harry’s relationship with Meghan Markle. According to the royal biographer, he claimed that their relationship would not last more than one month. He also called Harry “bonkers” for failing to do his due diligence in looking into Meghan’s past and called the future duchess an “opportunist,” saying she was too old for him.

Prince Harry denies the claims

The Sussexes were quick to respond to the allegations made by Lownie. Speaking to the Daily Mail, a spokesperson for the Duke denied any claims that such an event ever even occurred.

“I can confirm Prince Harry and Prince Andrew have never had a physical fight, nor did Prince Andrew ever make the comments he is alleged to have made about the Duchess of Sussex to Prince Harry.”

Lownie doesn’t have any evidence to back up the claims in his biography so it’s really his word against Harry’s. Unless Andrew speaks out and confirms or denies, but even then, we’ll likely never know for sure. Given how Harry is trying to make peace with the royal family perhaps he simply doesn’t want to rock the boat by dredging up the past.

One thing is for certain though, Prince Andrew seems to be rather unpopular amongst his fellow royals. Scandals both old and new have somewhat tarnished his reputation although Lownie’s biography indicates that he may have always been somewhat unpopular as he claims the prince was “sex obsessed,” and a “perverted animal.” Even William reportedly loathes his uncle and can’t wait to evict him once he becomes king.
