Prince William is ‘deeply concerned’ for Prince Andrew’s mental health despite pushing to have him exiled from the royal family

Prince William is allegedly worried about Prince Andrew's mental health.

Over the last few years Prince Andrew has lost almost everything. His reputation, his royal titles, and even his house. Of course, he has nobody to blame but himself but that hasn’t stopped some members of the royal family such as Prince William expressing concern for the former Duke of York’s mental health.

Sources previously claimed that William was leading the charge in having Andrew removed from the royal lodge, the future king even allegedly wanted his uncle to “vanish.” It seemed a surefire thing that William would deal with Andrew in the most severe manner upon his coronation, whenever that may be.

However, recent reports from royal sources indicate that William may have softened his views on Prince Andrew somewhat. He’s been painted as a “tough guy” when it comes to the disgraced prince, but now it seems William is “deeply concerned” for him.

Prince William has had a slight change of heart

While he likely hasn’t come around to fully defending his uncle, a new profile of Princess Kate from the Times (via Marieclaire.com) suggests that the ruthless image of William that has been portrayed by various news outlets is not be entirely accurate.

“If anything, William was deeply concerned for his uncle’s mental health and how Andrew would cope after everything was taken away.”

Perhaps it’s a valid concern, however, William still stood by his father regarding the punishments brought against Andrew. “William realized that while Andrew had always denied any wrongdoing, he supported his father’s decision to strip Andrew of his royal titles. Kate, in turn, supported her husband in the matter.”

What do the royal family think of Prince Andrew?

While some like William may be concerned for Andrew’s mental wellbeing, it seems the decision is almost unanimous in banishing him from the royal family, or at the very least, putting him somewhere out of sight. Last year he was removed from the Royal Lodge after much back-and-forth between him and King Charles.

The Prince was also notably absent from the pre-Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace. Both of his daughters were in attendance which suggests that even his immediate family may be shunning him at this point.

While it’s a sad situation for a man to be in, his close association with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell cannot and should not be ignored. At the end of last year a collection of emails between Andrew and Maxwell were released amongst the Epstein files. Numerous accusations from alleged victims have also been made against him. Despite this, Andrew has always maintained his innocence.
