She will be missed when the bonkers show bows out.

With the final season set to stream in August, Riverdale fans are already trying to come to terms with the show’s approaching end.

However, a fan-favorite star of the show recently shared a few words to make people feel light-hearted. This is none other than Madelaine Petsch, who played the vain Cheryl Blossom in the series, a role which earned her popular acclaim.

Throughout Riverdale‘s run, the viewers were introduced to different sides of Cheryl, starting from her grieving from her brother’s death (which formed season 1’s primary plot theme), her romance with Toni Topaz, and the shocking revelation of her being a witch, making her one of the most complex and intriguing characters.

In her recent interview with Us Weekly, Petsch thanked the fans for all the support and love during her journey as the blossom twin, and opened up about her plans post-Riverdale.

“It’s more to me about saying goodbye to these people who made the show [and] put their love into it. So that was quite difficult.”

Having completely devoted her time to acting for seven years, the 28 year-old actress shared that the next big step in her life will probably be taking time out for herself, and momentarily detaching from the screen, but a retrospective reflection on her career urged her to pinpoint all the memorable moments she shared with co-stars, Vanessa Morgan (who played her love interest, Tony Topaz on screen) in particular.

While it’s true that Petsch’s legacy as Cheryl Blossom will continue to inspire love from fans, we also hope to see her more in future projects.
