Sorry Stephen King, James Gunn has very different thoughts about ‘Succession’ finale

Oh, the joy of two different perspectives.

As film enthusiasts all across the internet continue to discuss the mind-blowing Succession finale, a variety of high-caliber celebrities are weighing in on the episode’s madness. Earlier today, horror novelist Stephen King threw some serious shade in the direction of the hit HBO series, insisting that a lot of people didn’t really care about it. But while King was adamant about his ever-present dislike of the show, filmmaker James Gunn has offered a completely different opinion.

Over on his official Twitter account, Gunn had the absolute opposite opinion of King — which included Gunn commending the show’s masterful storytelling with a “stunning finale” that reminds viewers why it secured a plethora of award nominations and wins. To top it all off, the DCU boss even shared an image of himself at one of the sights used in the series. You can check out the post for yourself down below:

Of course, with both men boasting their own unique personalities and interests, it hardly comes as a surprise that they would have different perspectives about the series. And while King is leaning more toward the side of indifference, it’s clear that Gunn is undoubtedly a fan of the show — especially if getting a picture at one of the sights seen in the series appears to be a goal marked off his bucket list.

Despite their separate opinions, there’s no discounting how important each individual is to their respective genre — with King being a major player in horror while Gunn continues to navigate the ever-growing success of the DCU. So while Succession certainly won’t unite them, perhaps a future project could?
