Yesterday was a banner day for the meme-makers of Twitter. Oh, we had a blast didn’t we? All the suggestions of a hungry little predator named Pete Davidson going after that innocent little unsuspecting bunny, Taylor Swift. Her relationship with actor Joe Alwyn wasn’t even cold yet, only newly in the grave, but that didn’t stop those devious little creators from having their fun.
Actually, so did we. While some people were dyeing Easter eggs with their kids, others were having mimosas with their moms in quaint sidewalk cafes or going to the church show, we were settling in with a big bowl of popcorn, declaring, “let the games begin!”
Some went the professional route.
While others were less subtle, issuing a warning.
Davidson had no recourse but to get the heck outta town. Who could blame him?
Yep, that’s right. The joke is on us. No, Pete Davidson is not coming for Taylor Swift, he’s got a girlfriend. And they’re all wholesome and stuff. They did what we should’ve done. I mean, if we were celebrities. Or knew a celebrity with a farm. Or liked eggs.
Or hey, maybe it’s all a ruse? Like, to throw us off the trail? Maybe Davidson is really somewhere, right now, as I type this, composing a poem to Swift, or baking a cake with a ring in it. Martha Stewart could show him how.
