10 stellar Pedro Pascal performances to staunch your thirst between episodes of ‘The Last of Us’ and ‘The Mandalorian’

Are you enamored with Pedro Pascal as much as the rest of us?

Pedro Pascal is seemingly in everything popular. If Hollywood wants a sure hit, they need to look no further than Pascal, born Jose Pedro Balmaceda Pascal. The man, the myth, the legend that is Pascal is currently leading two of the biggest TV shows of the year, but the Chilean-born actor has been around since 1996 when he starred in the short film Burning Bridges. Since then he has starred alongside some of Hollywood’s biggest stars, including Denzel Washington, Nicolas Cage, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, and Colin Firth.

As a movie and television star with tons of charm, charisma, and good looks, Pascal was a huge hit on HBO’s Game of Thrones. However, he truly enthralled audiences and became everyone’s favorite actor as the pseudo-father of Grogu – aka Baby Yoda in Disney’s The Mandalorian. He is also currently starring in the hit HBO post-apocalyptic drama The Last of Us. Both shows are wildly popular and heavily feature Pascal’s character trying to smuggle a child to safety. Thanks to this overlap, he has earned the titles of “The Daddylorian” and “America’s Favorite Dad.”

10. Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Long before his days of fighting fungi-infected zombies or space pirates, Pascal guest starred in season four, episode one of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He played Eddie, a freshman who has a brief flirtatious connection with Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar) before finding himself face-to-face with a group of vampires. At their next meeting, Buffy has to stake Eddie since he has been turned into a vampire.

Gellar posted a throwback photo of Pascal on set with her on Instagram, saying “When #Mother met #Father.”

Pascal appeared shocked that the Wolf Pack star remembered him when asked about it on the Red Carpet.

In DC’s Wonder Woman 1984, Pascal portrayed Maxwell Lord, the main antagonist of the Wonder Woman sequel. Lord is a sweet talker who uses his infomercials to swindle people. He uses an ancient artifact called the Dreamstone to grant anyone’s greatest desire. While it seems like a dream come true for many people, including Wonder Woman, it wreaks havoc on the world.

8. Kingsman: The Golden Circle

Pascal joined the cast of The Kingsmen in 2017’s Kingsman: The Golden Circle as Jack Daniels – codename Agent Whiskey. A high-ranking spy within the American Golden Circle Statesman, Whiskey seeks revenge for the death of his wife and unborn child. He is an expert at the whip and lasso, using them to disarm and disable his opponents.

7. The Bubble

Pascal joined the all-star ensemble of The Bubble in 2022 as a veteran actor who joins the cast of a sci-fi film franchise called Cliff Beats. The fictional Cliff Beats movie is being filmed during the COVID-19 pandemic, so all the actors are quarantined together in a hotel, causing them to go a little stir-crazy. The movie also stars Karen Gillan, David Duchovny, Leslie Mann, and Keegan-Michael Key.

Robert McCall (Denzel Washington) returns to righting wrongs in The Equalizer 2, and this time he has his former partner Dave York (Pascal). York is a CIA agent who highlights as an assassin for hire. The movie has a lot of action and intensity from the highly respected Washington and Pascal duo.

5. Triple Frontier

A group of former Delta Force soldiers teams up for a South American heist to steal $75 million in cash. Pascal stars alongside Ben Affleck, Oscar Isaac, Charlie Hunnam, and Garrett Hedlund in this action-adventure.

4. The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent

Javier Gutierrez (Pascal) is a Nicolas Cage superfan who pays the actor $1 million to make an appearance at his birthday party in The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. The two hit it off and become fast friends, but then the CIA informs Cage that his new best friend is believed to be an arms dealer and a wanted fugitive. They enlist his help to act as an operative to spy on and take Javier down.

3. Prospect

A father and daughter have been tasked with prospecting a forest-covered moon for gems. They come face to face with rival prospectors who also want the gems. The lead rival is Ezra, portrayed by Pascal. Although Prospect isn’t a well-known movie, it has an 89 percent favorable rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

2. Narcos

Narcos is a series loosely based on the true events of the downfall of the Columbian drug kingpin Pablo Escobar. In the series, Pascal portrays Javier Pena, the Drug Enforcement Agency agent who was tasked with bringing Escobar down. The series ran for three seasons.

Pascal entered the already packed cast of Game of Thrones during its fourth season and immediately became a fan favorite. As the Prince of Dorne, Pascal’s Oberyn Martell was suave, seductive, and savage. He immediately became a fan favorite, with fans praying his character arc would be different than the books, and people — for possibly the first time since Ned Stark’s (Sean Bean) death – having hope for a savior.
