Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last several months, you’re already fully aware that horror novelist Stephen King finds himself involved in online Twitter beefs on the daily. And while King’s latest targets center on professional draft-dodger Donald Trump and conservative commentator Dan Bongino, the acclaimed author has now fully focused his wrath on Governor Ron DeSantis — who is slated to announce his presidential bid later this evening alongside Elon Musk on Twitter.
But ahead of the mind-melting announcement, the 75-year-old writer has once again placed pen to paper (electronically, of course) and offered a suggestion for DeSantis’ campaign theme song. In typical King fashion, however, his message was deeply rooted in satire and echoed as a mockery aimed at the Governor of Florida. As appropriate as it gets, King decided that “They’re Coming to Take Me Away, Ha-ha” by Napoleon XIV would be the perfect song choice. You can check out the post for yourself down below:
Given King’s memorable track record of hurling jibes at DeSantis, it hardly comes as a surprise that he would choose a song that plainly mocks the political figure. Of course, with the replies full of commenters suggesting other songs such as “Loser” by Beck and “Another One Bites the Dust” by Queen, then it’s quite clear that DeSantis isn’t necessarily a fan-favorite on this side of the bird app.
But who knows? Seeing as Casey DeSantis was recently spotted wearing an ensemble that resembles characters from The Handmaid’s Tale, perhaps Ron should choose the show’s theme song as his presidential tune. We’ll surely have all questions answered when DeSantis makes his announcement later this evening.
