‘Studio’s nightmare’: Terrence Howard to expose Hollywood with candid podcast

Terrence Howard's upcoming podcast promises an explosive Hollywood exposé.

Oscar-nominated actor Terrence Howard is getting ready to start a podcast that promises to reveal Hollywood’s hidden, darker side without holding back. He has called the project a “studio’s nightmare and every actor’s wet dream,” suggesting it will dig deep into what he sees as unethical practices in the industry. The podcast is expected to cover his personal experiences with what he calls “business betrayals” and “shady transactions,” focusing on bigger systemic problems rather than just personal fights between celebrities.

As he said on the PBD Podcast, a major part of the podcast will be about Howard’s current legal fight with the Creative Arts Agency (CAA). He claims the agency lied about how much he should have been paid for his leading role in the popular TV show Empire, leading to him being underpaid by a large amount. Howard says he is owed a huge sum of money, reportedly $120 million, and he plans to go into detail about this in his podcast.

This lawsuit will be a big part of the content, giving listeners a behind-the-scenes look at what he says are unfair power struggles between actors and talent agencies. Aside from his issues with CAA, Howard also plans to talk about his experiences working with big entertainment companies like Disney and Fox. He wants to expose what he calls questionable business practices within these companies, sharing details about how things really work behind closed doors.

The exact nature of these practices hasn’t been revealed yet, but they are expected to be a major focus of the podcast. Adding to the excitement around the podcast, Howard’s recent interviews on other shows have shown how openly he speaks and how willing he is to challenge powerful people. In March 2024, he talked about his decision to sue CAA on the podcast Straight Talk with Daphne.

The main reason Howard is doing this podcast seems to come from his belief that the entertainment industry is full of fear and that people are too scared to stand up to powerful executives, agents, and others in charge. He thinks most people in Hollywood are afraid of what might happen if they speak out, but he doesn’t seem to share that fear.

He has said he feels like he has “nothing to lose,” which suggests his podcast could include revelations that others have been too afraid to share. Howard’s long and successful acting career gives weight to his claims. He has starred in well-respected movies like Crash, Hustle & Flow, Lackawanna Blues, and Prisoners, showing he has experience in different parts of the industry.

His high-profile role in Empire also means he has seen firsthand how Hollywood operates, making his perspective especially valuable. While the exact release date for Howard’s podcast hasn’t been announced yet, the possibility that it could expose major industry secrets has caught much attention.
