Miley Cyrus shared on Jimmy Kimmel Live this week that the main reason she got engaged to musician Maxx Morando is so he can help her deal with her intense fear of paper and cardboard. The Flowers singer said this isn’t just a small dislike; it’s a serious problem that makes her want to throw up just by looking at paper.

According to Unilad, Cyrus explained that the real problem happens when people have dry hands and touch paper. She said this gets much worse during the holidays when it’s cold, everyone’s hands are dry, and they’re handling wrapping paper. Even getting a “lovely letter” gives her major stress because she can’t make herself open it.

So how does her fiancé help? Cyrus joked that Morando’s ability to handle her deliveries is the main reason she agreed to marry him. She said Amazon packaging is the absolute worst. “Someone gets an Amazon box, I’m sick, because the cardboard is the worst of it all,” she told Kimmel.

Her engagement solves a very practical everyday problem

She pointed out that the cardboard is extra dry and often has more packaging inside the box. She summed it up: “That’s the best part, that’s really why I got engaged, because I just make my fiancé open all the packages outside.”

The 33-year-old star has had a complicated history with relationships. Before dating Morando, whom she started seeing in 2021, her love life was constantly in the news. She dated people like singer-actor Nick Jonas, actor Patrick Schwarzenegger, model Stella Maxwell, and Australian singer Cody Simpson. The singer has been open about her views on motherhood lately.
