Alexandra Anna Daddario is a talented, accomplished and seasoned American actress who has been in the acting business for over two decades. The 36-year old made her acting debut at the tender age of 15, playing the victimized Laurie Lewis in Agnes Nixon’s ABC daytime soap opera All My Children. Since then, Daddario has starred in a plethora of other television shows, most notably delivering a wonderful performance in HBO’s The White Lotus, which earned her an Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie nomination at the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards.

Even though her first role came when she was just 15, she would have to wait a while longer for her first major role, which came in Chris Columbus’ Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. American Horror Story: Hotel is the fifth season of the horror anthology. The show centers around a mysterious Hotel called Cortez, the staff that runs the hotel and the paranormal events that take place there. Daddario plays Natacha Rambova, the wife of Rudolph Valentino, and is joined by an ensemble cast of Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Wes Bentley, Matt Bomer, Chloë Sevigny, Denis O’Hare, Cheyenne Jackson, Angela Bassett, and Lady Gaga.

This American dark comedy-drama anthology television series created by Marc Cherry depicts the events leading to deaths caused by women. The show, which was unfortunately canceled after just two seasons, starred acts like Lucy Liu, Ginnifer Goodwin, Kirby Howell-Baptste, Sam Jaeger, Sadie Calvano, Jack Davenport, Reid Scott, Allison Tolman, Lana Parilla and B.K. Cannon. Daddario appears in the first season as Jade/Irene, the bisexual lover of a couple in an open marriage.

This ABC classic ran for an impressive 41 years; first between January, 1970 to September, 2011, and then briefly between April to September in 2013. It is a television soap opera set in the fictional city of Pine Valley, Pennsylvania. While there’s no defined storyline that runs through the show’s 10,000 episodes, it mostly revolves around main character Erica Kane (played by the iconic Susan Lucci) and her various love interests. Daddario appeared in the show between 2002 to 2003, playing Laurie Lewis, a bluegrass singer and songwriter.

Directed by Chris Columbus and the first installment in the Percy Jackson film series, Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief is a 2010 action-fantasy film based on the 2005 novel The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan. This is where Daddario landed her first major role, playing Annabeth Chase, the demigod daughter of Athena, and Percy’s romantic foil. White Collar is an American police procedural drama television series created by American Tv producer Jeff Eastin. The show, which ran from Oct. 2009 to Dec. 2014, revolves around Peter Burke and Neal Caffrey, the former a FBI Special Agent and the latter a highly intelligent and multi-talented con artist. Caffrey works with Burke as a criminal informant and an FBI consultant. Daddario plays a recurring role in this show, appearing as Kate Moreau, Caffrey’s girlfriend whose disappearance and murder were the primary story arc throughout the first and second seasons.

4. Mayfair Witches

Based on the novel trilogy Lives of the Mayfair Witches by Anne Rice, Mayfair Witches is an American supernatural thriller-drama television series created by Esta Spalding and Michelle Ashford. The series follows Daddrio’s character, Dr. Rowan Fielding, a neurosurgeon who learns she is the heiress to a dynasty of powerful witches haunted by a sinister spirit. It features other names like Harry Hamlin as Cortland Mayfair, Tongayi Chirisa as Ciprien Grieve and Jack Huston as Lasher.

3. True Detective

In the first season of Nic Pizzolatto’s True Detective, an anthology crime-drama show, Daddario is thrust amongst a stellar cast of actors; Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson, Michelle Monaghan, Michael Potts, and Tory Kittles. She does very well in holding her own, delivering an impressive performance in a recurring role. The New York-native plays Lisa Tragnetti, a court reporter who has an affair with a police detective and one of the show’s main protagonists, Martin Hart. 

2. We Have Always Lived in the Castle 

Stacie Passon’s We Have Always Lived in the Castle is a 2018 mystery-thriller film that’s based on Shirley Jackson’s 1962 novel of the same name. Daddario stars alongside Taissa Farmiga, Crispin Glover, Paula Malcomson, Peter Coonan, Bosco Hogan, Peter O’Meara, and Sebastian Stan, amongst others. The film revolves around Merricat, Constance and their Uncle Julian, who live in isolation after experiencing a family tragedy six years earlier. When cousin Charles arrives to steal the family fortune, he also threatens a dark secret they’ve been hiding. Daddario plays Constance Backwood, a young girl who was tried and acquitted of the death of her parents by poisoning.

HBO’s The White Lotus is an black comedy-drama anthology television series created by Mike White. Here, Daddario joins a stellar ensemble cast in the first season, playing Rachel Patton, a newlywed and struggling journalist who does clickbait gigs. She delivers a dazzling performance, earning plaudits from critics and also a Best Supporting Actress in a Broadcast Network or Cable Limited or Anthology Series nomination by the Hollywood Critics Association TV Awards as well as an Emmy nomination.
