Fresh off the back of the biggest streaming release of 2022, Hunter Doohan has made a surprise appearance at the 2023 Grammys. Rocking a gothic look, he seemed more than happy to maintain the Wednesday brand.
Doohan is one of the most interesting attendees of the prestigious music awards, with his appearance much like Dwayne Johnson’s surprise cameo. The Australian actor is not up for any awards at the ceremony nor is any musical selection from Wednesday, not that hardcore fans of the young star will be complaining, as he uses some vampire-like charm on the crimson catwalk.
Wednesday’s levels of success are truly hard to get a feel of, as it continues to dominate Netflix’s top ten charts well into Feb. 2023. Only Stranger Things saw a better 28 day debut period on the platform, with it already cultivating a massive following over the six years and four seasons prior.
Whether or not Doohan will see his career breakout to the same levels of lead Jenna Ortega is perhaps the biggest question. The new scream queen had one of the best breakout years of any actor since, well, the Stranger Things cast in 2016. Doohan’s attendance at the Grammys is bizarre, but signals the growing brand he’s formed since the Wednesday debut in Nov. 2022.
Doohan’s next role isn’t publicly known, with him not currently attached for any projects outside of the second season of the hit Ortega series.
Wednesday is currently available to stream on Netflix.
