What happened to Colleen and Josh? Colleen Ballinger and Joshua David Evans’ divorce, explained

Here's everything we know.

Youtuber Colleen Ballinger has been sharing her life on the internet for over a decade, both as herself and her alter ego Miranda Sings. As a result, she has posted about her wedding, pregnancies, and even her divorce. While she is currently happily married to Erik Stocklin, Ballinger once shared a very public relationship with fellow YouTuber Joshua David Evans.

Evans and Ballinger got married in 2015, an event that Colleen shared on her YouTube Channel. The pair met in 2009 after connecting on Facebook.

The Youtube couple got engaged in 2014 and announced their split shortly after their one-year wedding anniversary.

Both parties shared videos addressing their audiences when the divorce occurred. Ballinger shared that the couple, “had always had a rocky relationship since the beginning.” She told her audience, “We chose to not share with you the hard parts of our relationship. And there were a lot of hard parts of our relationship.”

Evans, on the other hand, shared that he did not want to divorce Colleen. “I want it to be known that I am not choosing this divorce. I don’t want this divorce. I want her, but I truly believe she thinks she is making the right decision right now,” he said.

Though there were rumors of infidelity, both parties confirmed that there was no cheating involved in their decision to separate.

However, in 2019 Evans posted and then deleted a video entitled “The Actual Truth About Everything: Part 1,” seemingly addressing his relationship with Colleen.

More recently, Ballinger has come under fire for grooming allegations and Evans has taken to Twitter to comment on the accusations.

His tweet suggests more contention happening behind closed doors than the couple originally let on. Evans has also caught some allegations during this time, and addressed and apologized for inappropriate contact with minors via his Twitter page.

He has also come out to say that he won’t be using Colleen’s demise as a “catalyst” to restart his YouTube career.
