Human trafficking, which includes sex trafficking and child labor, is one of the most common crimes in the world. The International Labour Organization estimates that approximately 25 million people per year are forced into labor. Contrary to popular perception, most victims are not kidnapped but rather are misled.
Social media influencer Andrew Tate was recently detained in Romania under accusations of human trafficking, specifically that he misled numerous women into the promises of a relationship only to use those women for his profit.
Tate is specifically alleged to have coerced numerous women into becoming webcam girls, thus persuading them to perform sexual acts on themselves or on a guest while others paid to watch it live online. Tate would then take exorbitant royalties from them. Tate made a video suggesting that he had to convince many of the women to do such work.
Several women have come forth with these allegations while Tate foolishly filmed videos of himself teaching male subscribers to a paid portion of his website, Hustler’s University, on how to coerce vulnerable women into actually working for them, despite Tate clearly expressing that most of these women do not want to initially do such degrading things for money.
The main element to Tate’s manipulative practices is called the “Loverboy Method.” In short, it’s a method used by a man who makes women falsely believe that he is their boyfriend in order to either get money from them directly, or eventually use them as a way to make money.
In Tate’s case, he is alleged to have misled women with promises of a relationship — and in at least one case, marriage — only to then make those women believe he had their best interest in mind so that he could ultimately convince them to do what he really wanted them to do, which is to make him a profit by selling their sexuality.
Some of the girls would have travelled far to Romania and entrusted Tate with their protection. Tate instead set them up at his luxurious home and had them perform sex work. This allegedly makes Tate a human trafficker both in terms of forced labor and sex trafficking.
If the girls did not make money, Tate would then kick them out. In either case, there is no relationship, nor marriage, as was originally promised.
Tate had an estimated 70 women working for him simultaneously, all webcam girls who were mostly working from his home. Tate had also admitted that about half of those women were his girlfriends at one time, and that none of his girlfriends were in the adult entertainment industry prior to meeting him.
Tate was reportedly caught on wiretaps, webcam chats, and WhatsApp messages exposing his fraudulent business practices, while also revealing how he deals with women who don’t perform to his standard. In one of those conversations, he allegedly told one of the women working for him: “If you don’t make money, we’re gonna have a problem. Punch yourself in the mouth until I arrive because then I’ll give you another ten.” It was then explained to the girl that the threat of violence was because her earnings were down 20%.
Transcripts of those messages also show that Tate told one of his workers: “The company was fake, but this is how I laundered my dirty money. Some of the girls who worked for me, I used them to do other things. To move money or illegal things and documents.”
Tate’s admitted method that he uses to manipulate women just so happens to be the most common method used in the horrid world of human trafficking, A United Nations report concluded that 79% of human trafficking is sexual exploitation. The report also points out that, in many countries, women trafficking women is actually the norm. This is because even in cases where a man is the main trafficker, a woman is used to gain trust more easily from his potential victims. A perfect example of this would be Ghislaine Maxwell doing the bidding of Jefferey Epstein. Many of the teenage girls in that case have stated that they trusted Maxwell because she is a woman.
It turns out that Tate has two women reportedly helping him bring aboard others. Luana Radu, a former Romanian police officer, was detained for allegedly assisting in recruiting several women to work for Tate. In addition to his apparent use of the “Loverboy Method,” Tate is believed to have expanded his manipulation by utilizing Radu as well. The other woman who is believed to help recruit others is named Georgiana Naghel, and is believed to be Tate’s current girlfriend.
Is Andrew Tate running a human tracking empire? If all the allegations against him are true, then it’s practically undeniable that he is.
As of this writing, Andrew Tate is still being detained in Romania as the investigation against his reported illegal activities continues.
