Following one of the most costly divorces in history, Bezos then additionally made headlines as he attempted to find love again, and apparently was successful. Immediately. Now, with Bezos’ recent announcement of his impending marriage to his girlfriend of four years Lauren Sanchez, all eyes are on the happy couple. We just have one question – who is Lauren Sanchez? Lauren Sanchez and Jeff Bezos began dating in 2019 – not long after Bezos’ divorce from his first wife MacKenzie was finalized. Jeff and MacKenzie divorced in 2019 with a record-breaking settlement of $36 billion. Part of their divorce hinged on reports of Bezos texting his then-mistress illicit photos. Enter Bezos’s girlfriend Lauren Sanchez. Not exactly the most flattering way to announce your relationship to the world, but regardless the two did not seem to let it dissuade them, they’ve been together ever since.
Bezos is known for his grand gestures of affection for his latest love interest. The most publicized example is the odd yet heartwarming tribute to her on his superyacht. The superyacht is valued at a cool $500 million and the tribute itself sits abreast (literally) the ship’s prow. The curvaceous figure that serves as the masthead looks awfully familiar, and as it should as it was carved to be a likeness of Sanchez herself. Yet who exactly is this buxom bombshell?
Who is Lauren Sanchez?
Lauren Sanchez is not exactly unknown, as she is an Emmy award-winning news anchor and co-host of Good Day LA. She also made an appearance in a few Hollywood films such as Fight Club, Ted 2, and The Longest Yard. She is also a helicopter pilot who founded the first female-owned aerial film production company, Black Ops Aviation. She shares this love of flying with Bezos and claims it is one of their favorite things to do together. In an interview with People, she revealed “We love to be together and we love to work together. We fly together. We work out together. We’re together all the time.”
Sanchez is also reportedly very interested and invested in climate change. She and Bezos even met with Prince Charles in 2021 to discuss climate change and possible solutions. She also took a trip to Colombia with Bezos to learn about conservation and deforestation in the area.
Sanchez is an Albuquerque, New Mexico native and shares a son, Nikko, with her ex, former NFL tight end Tony Gonzalez. She was born on December 19, 1969, making her 53 years old and a Saggitarius. Bezos is a Capricorn. These two signs are often thought to be compatible, by the way, so no wonder these two hit it off so well.
The couple announced their engagement and upcoming nuptials in May of 2023. While details of the ceremony have yet to be revealed it’s clear that the two are full-steam ahead in their relationship.
