‘Why do you do this to me mom?’: Mariah Carey’s Easter photos mortify twins Moroccan and Monroe

Pop star Mariah Carey’s recent Easter celebration took a surprising turn when she posted photos of her 13-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe, on Instagram, causing the teenagers to feel embarrassed online. The pictures showed a family Easter gathering, including Carey, her kids, and an Easter Bunny. The setting looked like Carey’s home, with several photos focusing on the singer wearing a festive, pink-themed outfit.

As reported by Page Six, this included a sparkly pink mini dress, a matching short jacket, bright pink slippers, pink espadrilles, and large pink sunglasses. The photos also showed the twins, who are almost as tall as their 5’9″ mother, taking part in Easter activities. One picture had the family smiling with the Easter Bunny, while others showed the twins looking at Easter baskets.

Carey’s caption talked about how happy she was that her kids joined in, calling it “the greatest gift of being a mom.” However, her teenagers did not feel the same way. Moroccan and Monroe commented on the post to make their unhappiness clear. Monroe wrote, “OMG DELETE IT,” while Moroccan’s comment said, “Why do you do this to me mom?”

Mariah Carey’s kids aren’t so happy about the easter photos

It’s fun to see that parents will always be uncool to their kids, despite being the coolest to everyone else. This situation follows another awkward moment between Carey and her son Moroccan from a recent livestream. During a Twitch stream hosted by Moroccan, Carey made a surprise appearance, which led to a flood of comments from viewers.

Feeling overwhelmed, Moroccan asked his family to leave the room. This earlier incident helps explain why the twins might be extra sensitive about their mom posting things about them publicly.

The Easter photos were shared not long after the 20th anniversary of Carey’s album, The Emancipation of Mimi. Looking back, Carey talked about how the album was often called her “comeback album,” a label she didn’t like at first but has since come to accept. This detail matters because it shows how Carey’s career and public image have changed over time, which is the world her kids are growing up in.

Mariah Carey shares her twins with her ex-husband, Nick Cannon. While Moroccan and Monroe are Carey’s only children, Cannon has since had more kids with other partners. The unique situation of their blended family likely adds to the public’s interest in the twins and their relationship with their mom.
